Take A Look At 'Gotham' Before The Batman

It's the Muppet Babies version of Batman How many times do we need to watch Bruce Wayne's parents get murdered? Lots more I guess, because now there's a series devoted to the immediate fallout of that event that focuses on the earlier days of Gotham City while its defenders and costumed crazies were still Muppet Babies. A Smallville for the Batman universe, if you will. Gotham is anchored by a young Jim Gordon, the rookie officer who actually gives a damn. He navigates corruption, gangland politics, and the small time crooks who will one day harness the destructive powers of penguins, flowers, and being really good at riddles. I'll stick with the Tommy Wiseau version.

'Gotham' Promo Reveals The Joker To Be Just Some Wiener Kid

Well, that was a letdown. It was announced early in Gotham's run that each episode would feature a character that may or may not eventually become Batman's greatest foe, the Joker. This has sparked several theories about who might become Gotham's clown prince. Everyone from the pilot's hacky comedian to The Penguin have been flagged as potential Jokers in waiting. However, in the time since that news was announced, the producers have decided to say, awww, screw it, and just get right to the Joker. Without further ado, this promo reveals that the Joker is.... some wiener kid! Enjoy, fans of that kind of thing.

'Gotham High' Is A Tricky Place For A Teenage Girl

I dare you to write a logline for this. It's hard to really tell what this is, but it's interesting enough that you won't turn it off. Yup. That's my glowing endorsement. "It's weird and disjointed enough that it's kind of fascinating." Gotham High offers a teenage girl's inventory of Dark Knight-era Batman actors as the played high school students in other roles. Only sometimes it's not like that at all, like when they have the character Powder from the terrible movie Powder portraying a young Mr. Freeze. And then it just sort of turns into clips from 10 Things I Hate About You. Just watch.

Batman Gives Bruce Wayne A Call

What? Isn't this how we all spend our Friday nights?? [post-album postid="211258" item="3"]Forget about David Mamet's Atlantic Acting School and all the other distinguished learning centers devoted to the craft of performance. Aspiring actors need look no further than this clip from the 1960's "Batman" television series for all the tools they'll need. Discovered on BuzzFeed, Adam West does what we all thought impossible. In a master performance, he conducts a phone conversation with himself as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. The only way this could be funnier is if he were in his Batman costume, or if it was Christian Bale growling at himself.

'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' Trailer Harnesses Gamer Power

If only real life offered 1-Ups... The Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Facebook page hit 100,000 fans at 1:30am this morning, and that means the full length trailer has been unleashed. A big thank you goes out to all the drunks who stumbled back to their homes last night and stamped barbeque sauce on their keyboards as they eagerly "Liked" the fan page. Scott Pilgrim, based off the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley, follows a guy (Michael Cera) as he tries to defeat a girl's (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to make shiz official with her. His world becomes a big video game full of 1-Ups, vibrant color trails, and onamonapias. According to the film's tag, the studio wants you to believe  that it's on like Donkey Kong, but unless one of the ex-boyfriends is a giant ape in a dress tie, I'm going to have to insist that it's on like something else. Check out the trailer after the jump. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World BAMS! into theaters August 13, 2010.

Libyan News Anchors A Lot Cooler Than American Ones

You never see Wolf Blitzer waving a gun on the air. Except that one time. You might have seen the news emerging from the country of Libya, involving Muammar Gaddafi. But I bet none of the news you watched was being delivered by someone brandishing a gun. This wasn't the case for viewers of the state-run news channel al-Libiyah. They were treated to the sight of anchorwoman Hala Misrati waving her gat around. Here's what she had to say: “You will not take al-Libiyah channel. You won’t take Jamahiriyah channel, Shababiyah channel, Tripoli or all of Libya, and even those without weapon are willing to be a shield in order to protect their colleagues at this channel. We are willing to become martyrs.” I'm gonna remember this next time Sean Hannity says something controversial - do you think he'd be willing to be a martyr for Fox News? Anyway, you can see the video for yourself up above. Watch it before you think about invading Libya. (Mediaite)
