The pursuit of knowledge is no laughing matter. Neither is stealing Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek’s thunder. Game show hosts are sacred, and rule their domains with a deft, fair hand.
That hand was slapped away by Mr. Ari Voukydis, who, upon not knowing the answer to a Final Jeopardy question, thought he would endear himself to Trebek and the audience by being a little cute with his answer.
“This handsome gentleman,” with an arrow pointing up, indicating that he was the handsome gentleman in question.
“In 1891 this European said, ‘Perhaps my factories will put an end to war sooner than your congresses’”
Upon a cursory Google search, I discovered that Mr. Voukydis didn’t ever go on record with that quote, and probably wasn’t even alive in 1891, let alone owning many factories at that time.
