'Dredd' Comes To Blu-Ray. Hide Your Sins.

Don't dredd this, you'll like it. He IS the law. On January 8, Dredd came to DVD and Blu-Ray, so if you think that you can escape the loooooong arm of the law in the comfort of your home, think again. And in case you're wandering if this follow-up is softer than the original, think again. This has more grit than sandpaper does.

New 'Dredd' Trailer Looks Pretty Cool, Actually

Don't watch if you're not prepared to have all of your preconceived notions rocked to their cores. Moviegoers could be forgiven for assuming that anything with the word "Dredd" in the title is a piece of shit, thanks to notably shitty piece of shit Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone. But if you dig a little deeper, you'll find that the comics featuring the Judge Dredd character are pretty well-respected, and now this trailer comes out and actually looks really cool and I don't know what to think anymore. As if that weren't enough, this trailer also has Olivia Thirlby, famous for playing sweet smartasses in stuff like Juno and The Wackness doing what can be called for lack of a better term "kicking ass." The lesson is clear: Don't watch the trailer for Dredd if you're not prepared to have all of your preconceived notions rocked to their cores. Or if you don't like guns.

Taylor Lautner Still Running, Hiding In Second 'Abduction' Trailer

They shot his fake dad! post-album postid="212009" item="1"]Poor Taylor Lautner. One day he's a misunderstood werewolf with chipmunk teeth, the next day he's finding out that the people that have been raising him aren't his parents. And to add insult to injury, he still has those chipmunk teeth. This Abduction trailer has us running and hiding with Lautner as he tries to piece together who those people were and why they're now dead. It would be dismissive and easy to call this a "Bourne for the Twilight set," which is exactly why I'm so comfortable calling this film a "Bourne for the Twilight set." John Singleton appears to have done a decent job with the action here, which leaves the acting in the very capable hands of Lautner. *Trying hard not to giggle*

New ‘Hanna’ Trailer Still Doesn’t Show Hanna’s Softer Side

The international trailer for Hanna is out, and it's equally kick-ass as the US trailer. The international trailer for Hanna is out, and it's equall kick-ass as the U.S. trailer, but with a slightly different focus. While the US trailer focused a little more on her upbringing, this trailer sheds a little more light on her life on the run once her card has been pulled by the powers that be. It also merits mentioning that both trailers show her snapping that Southern chick's neck like a twig, which is worth the price of admission right there. This new trailer shows Hanna as more of a fish-out-of-water and insinuates at the end that should could be just plain evil, but I don't buy that for a second. Not our Hanna. Either way, this video just affirms my belief that this movie is going to be really great. Which is what a trailer is supposed to do, so...good job, Team Hanna. (/Film)

Get Judgmental With This 'Dredd 3D' Clip

They misspelled "dread," but the more I think about it, the more I think that may have been intentional. September 21st won't be just the autumnal equinox (which is totally awesome on its own merits), but also the release date for a film featuring an old friend of ours, Legendary Comics' Judge Dredd. Dredd 3D premieres that same day, offering up a darker take on the judge, jury, and executioner. Lest you think this is a tacked-on sequel rushed to meet 3D demand, the script is written by Alex Garland, who made a name for himself with 28 Days Later. In case you couldn't tell from the clip, the producers decided to take Judge Dredd in a younger, less mumbly direction with Karl Urban. His nemesis will be played by a prostitute-turned-drug kingpin. And while it would be funnier if that character was a former gigolo, it's a girl, played by Juno's Olivia Thirlby. So open your eyes, get your tickets, and realize that Judge Dredd isn't living in 1994 anymore.

Comic-Con 2012: Party's Over In New 'Dredd' Clip

Jeez, what a narc. Comic-Con 2012 has also brought us this first clip from the upcoming Dredd. Here we see Karl Urban judging, jurying, and executing all over the place as he busts in on some tweakers and crashes the party. And their faces. Slow motion in action movies gets a pretty bad rap, but here it works really well. If they truly invented a drug that made the world look like it was shot with the Phantom camera, I'd try it. Oh wait. Am I addicted already? They say the first hit's free. When's this movie come out?!? My skin itches and I want to ride the snake to Valhalla!

A Makeover, Yoda Got, For 'The Phantom Menace' Blu-Ray

George Lucas couldn't just leave it alone. Despite claims that they wouldn't f*ck around and add anything to the new Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace Blu-Ray, George Lucas just couldn't resist giving Yoda a little work. However, in this case, LucasFilm has improved upon the original version. In the clip above you'll see the crappy Yoda puppet used initially has been swapped out for CG Yoda. Looks much better and allows more consistency throughout the prequels. Now, if only they'd do something about the Mars Guo puppet that crashes and burns around the 4:33 mark in the video below. What is that thing? rubber chicken with a belt across its eyes?? (via /Film)

'Looper' Celebrates Blu-ray And DVD With This New Trailer

Bring home last year's best sci-fi film. If you haven't seen Looper yet, now's your chance. To promote Rian Johnson's trippy, futuristic action thriller Looper, the folks at Sony put together this new "mashup" trailer that takes you on a ride through the film's exciting moments. In the future, time travel will be invented - but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) - is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good... until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels also star. Looper is available now on Blu-ray and DVD with 17 deleted scenes on the Blu-ray exclusive, making-of featurettes and feature commentary.

Hide The Children: 'Let's Be Cops' Has A Redband Trailer

'Let's Be Criminals' would be a more fun premise. Looks like the casting director for Let's Be Cops just flipped through primetime TV to do the heavy lifting. The buddy "cop" comedy features Jake Johnson from The New Girl starring alongside Damon Wayans Jr., who had made a name for himself on Happy Endings. It doesn't look like a revolutionary comedy or anything, unless you're 12 years old, but the stars are pretty charming and funny, so maybe they can take this film with a straightforward title and make it shine a little more than this trailer lets on.
