Captain America To Ditch The 1940s Sooner Than Later

We know that 'The Avengers' movie takes place in modern times, so at some point, Captain America will have to jump from the 40s to today... but when? We know that The Avengers movie takes place in modern times, so at some point, Captain America will have to jump from the 40s to today. When does it happen? Is a DeLorean involved? Inquiring geek minds want to know. Alert: a spoiler approaches... According to the above MTV interview with actor Chris Evans, by the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, he's frozen in carbonite or goes through a time portal or something and ends up in 2011. The sequel is a "fish out of water story," which sounds shagadellically Austin Powers-esque. Hopefully the shield can cover himself up while he tries out a Swedish Penis Enlarger. Cap is sure to have a number of questions once he gets to our time, like "are all black people presidents," "what do you mean nobody likes swing music anymore," and "when can I see my life story in theaters?" I can answer the last one at least: July 22, 2011.

New 'Avengers' Trailer Shows Us How All These Avengers Ended Up Together

Handsome men make the best superheroes. So that's how the super friends all met! We can thank a bald black dude in an eyepatch. In case you were wondering exactly how the characters from The Avengers were all assembled so as not to look like a superhero version of the Miami Heat, here's your answer. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) assembled a team of elite superheroes (Is there any other kind?) to tackle the type of costumed ne'er-do-wells that could only populate a Marvel universe. While I'm sure the origin story of The Avengers is somewhat carefully crafted, it's pretty hard to get past seeing Captain America next to Thor next to Iron Man. It looks like a parody of itself, but that probably won't stop it from being fun.

'Captain America' Trailer Preview Almost Ruined By "Entertainment Tonight"

This trailer-preview-thing for director Joe Johnston's 'Captain America' comes courtesy of "E.T.," who got their glitziness and excessive voice over all over Cap's shield. Can't wait for the full Captain America: The First Avenger trailer to drop? Here's something to tide you Marvel-loving nerd soldiers over: a preview video for the trailer. That's right, it's a preview designed to hype an upcoming trailer. 2012 is getting closer and closer, folks. This trailer-preview-thing for director Joe Johnston's Captain America comes courtesy of "Entertainment Tonight," who got their glitziness and excessive voice over all over Cap's shield. Disgusting. However, to quote the great Homer Simpson, "it's still good. It's still good." We've also got a very, very short clip from the trailer off Paramount's Twitter feed. If you blink and press play at the same time, you'll miss what happens. Better get the clothespins out for those pesky eyelids. (Cinema Blend)

'Captain America' Trailer: Still No Sympathy For Nazis

As long as we have him on our side, we'll be ok. Except in jungle warfare. Then it's really anyone's guess. [post-video postid="203309"] This Fourth of July, I suggest you get your family all huddled in the house (or, let's face it, studio apartment), draw the curtains, and watch this Captain America trailer on a loop. Over and over and over until you are ready to drop-kick the next German you meet. Before you argue with me, claiming "the Fourth of July is about being outside" or "I lost my job and can't afford an Internet connection anymore," check out the trailer and try to say with a straight face that you don't love America 6% more than before you watched it. The theatrical trailer plays up the characteristics (beyond the physique) that make Captain America "Cap'n 'merica." Namely, his eagerness to jump on grenades, and not in a metaphorical sense. Balancing out the more emotional qualities here is a catchy little number by Tool, that reminds us that Captain America is a complete and total badass. But if you needed reminding of that, you're probably a communist.

Here's 'The Avengers' Trailer Marvel Is So Proud Of

This looks better than all the Marvel movies combined. Marvel has finally given us our first look at The Avengers. Well, I guess we've seen all of them before in their own solo movies. But now we have a look at them hanging out together. Except it's actually the second time we've seen them bro out if you count the mini-trailer that aired after the Captain America end credits. Look, what do you want from me? There are lasers, explosions, Robert Downey Jr. lipping off, and Thor. Everybody loves some Thor. The action here looks pretty impressive. It makes me want to team up with a ragtag group of extraordinary individuals and throw one another through plate glass windows and such. Then again, I just watched The Kids Are Alright and it had the same effect. When you're done gawking at the trailer, click here to gawk at 27 Hot Girls Dressed Like R2D2.

Set Aside Four Minutes To Watch This 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' Clip

Looks like it took on some elements of 'Bourne'. One of the most anticipated films of the year is inching its way to theaters, and we've got an early four-minute look at what we're in for with Captain America: Winter Soldier. It's nothing unexpected or surprising, but it looks pretty fun nonetheless, and it seems to be even more stylized than the original. So take a gander, and see if the slightly new direction this franchise has taken makes it more or less appealing to you. If you're a fan of the Marvel universe, though, you've probably already made up your mind.

There's So Much Awesome In The Full 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Trailer

More please. The full-length Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer flew into our homes last night like some kind of flying disc and with it a better introduction to The Winter Soldier and Falcon. Here we see Cap adjusting to modern day and testing the limits of his shield against advanced weapons technology as well as the 1990's Mortal Kombat 2 technology. He's the world's only hope against the uprise of the robot arms.

The World Gets Torn Down In 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Trailer

It looks awesome. Captain America is back and adjusting to having to punch bad guys in modern day. Judging from this first trailer, it looks like it won't disappoint. Here we see Chris Evans as Cap teaming up with Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow to take on a new threat from his past -- his former boy sidekick Bucky Barnes reborn as The Winter Soldier aka Guy Who Can Catch Cap's Shield. I especially like around the 2:00 mark where they slap-box and look like sparring kittens. Anthony Mackie also looks awesome as The Falcon taking on a f&*king jet with two Uzi pistols. All in all, impressive work from directors Anthony and Joe Russo. The guys best known for that NBC monkey comedy that bombed really hard.
