![]() EXCLUSIVE! 'Heroes' Will Most Likely Get a 5th SeasonTV Show Title:
Whole lot of shaking going on at NBC and more specifically Heroes. This past week we saw the killing off of Adrian Pasdar's character, heard the news that Sendhil Ramamurthy has been cast in a new pilot for the network, and the network itself merged with Comcast. Everyone is taking the departure of Ramamurthy and Pasdar as a sign that the show is canceled. ScreenJunkies reached out to an inside source at Heroes who confirmed these rumors as false. Our source tells us that Ramamurthy got a pilot and asked the writers to write him out. They obliged. Everyone loves Sendhil Ramamurthy and his character, but the truth is he didn't have a lot of screen time this season, and the writers felt they shouldn't stand in the way of the actor's future. Look for Mohinder Suresh to make his exeunt in an episode airing in late January. Our source further tells us that given that Heroes (and it's DVD sales) is huge all over the world, it's doubtful it will be canceled anytime soon. From a business standpoint, another season would bring the number of shows up to 100 which would position Heroes as a bona fide asset for future ancillary ventures. In fact, as The Hollywood Reporter pointed out, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts gave a verbal shout-out to Heroes on his phone call to investors after the merger went through yesterday. It's always a good thing to impress the new boss. That's why I wear tight t-shirts around the office. How you gonna hate on a guy who looks like Rambo pretty much with his shirt off?

December 5th, 2009 at 06:56 pm heroes for life hope theres many more seasons to come!
December 5th, 2009 at 09:44 pm Thank god. :) I don't need to get a gun after all...
December 5th, 2009 at 09:49 pm The problem is that the "magic 100" rule doesn't really apply in Hollywood anymore. With so many other platforms such as VOD, Internet, niche cable channels and other places, post-series syndication run really isn't as weighty of a factor as it was in the 1990s. While the network sources (not sources on the show, since the network is the decision maker, not those on the show) continue to tell Airlock Alpha (the site that first reported a potential cancellation around Halloween, about a month before E!) that nothing has changed (it's still in limbo leading to cancellation), I do have to say that the one shining light for the show right now is the past and potential DVD sales, as it's produced in-house, and NBC could see tremendous benefit from continuing the show.
December 6th, 2009 at 07:08 am this show is getting slower than an astronaut kick... c'mon kill it once and for all
February 27th, 2010 at 11:24 am
'kill you, once and for all.
December 6th, 2009 at 12:57 pm Heroes is by far the best show on tv. 'Cmon people - do any of you remember the tv shows from the 70's and 80's?? Heroes is the most original and totally refreshing thing on tv to date. Too bad there aren't more shows like it - or is that a good thing?? Those of us who watch it religiously are looking forward to as many seasons as they'll do. NBC's ratings have been in the tank for a while now, so they'd better keep their best show!!!
December 6th, 2009 at 04:43 pm I like the Energy in this site for Heroes!! I am glad this is good news for me and load of my friends.
December 7th, 2009 at 03:14 am Sendhil had to drop out of Rex at the last minute due to scheduling conflicts. That means ScreenJunkies' entire rumour was bullshit, right? Or are they still writing off Sendhil - just also destroying his chances at landing a new job because they can't be bothered to accommodate his schedule? Yeah, they sure as hell don't want to be standing in the way of his career. I can't believe how horribly they have been treating Sendhil this season.
December 7th, 2009 at 09:45 am Are all these comments written by the same "anonymous" or different ones? I'd like some confirmation of the Sendhil pulling out of the pilot news, because I hadn't heard that. Do you have a source for that? Joe@IAmATVJunkie.com
December 7th, 2009 at 10:23 am It looks like Sendhil had to step down. I was so excited to see Rex with Sendhil and Tennant together. Can't stand O'Connel. Whoever made that call is an idiot.
December 9th, 2009 at 06:22 am agree
January 13th, 2010 at 12:36 pm It feels like the networks have gotten a little bit to kill-happy lately. When ratings slow a bit they just cut short and start over. With a good thing like heroes they should work on it instead of giving up.
February 1st, 2010 at 04:57 pm They have not started filming the 5th season. They just finished filming the 19th episode three weeks ago and haven't filmed an episode since that one.
February 9th, 2010 at 06:45 am last night was was the season ender when will season 5 start ....in the spring of fall???????
