Emmy Rossum returns to television this weekend for the second season of Showtime’s “Shameless.” She plays Fiona Gallagher, daughter of an always-drunk working class antihero played by William H. Macy. Based on the British television series of the same name, “Shameless” has received warm reviews from critics since it first aired last year. We can only assume part of that had to do with Rossum’s innate charm. The new season premieres on January 8.

What’s different about tonight’s episode is the fact that it’s the last installment before the show goes on hiatus! No, it hasn’t been officially canceled, and the network could bring it back later this season, but we here at Screen Junkies like to prepare for the worst. That’s why we’ve stocked an entire bunker full of canned foods and K-Y Jelly. It’s also why we’re preparing ourselves for the fact that Community may not be coming back.

The fine people at Lifetime are busy amending their made-for-TV movie, Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, to incorporate yesterday’s acquittal. Considering the production values of your average Lifetime movie, they might also want to consider incorporating a nude scene for actress Hayden Panettiere. It’s about the only thing that will get anyone with a Y-chromosome to watch. Granted, it’s basic cable, so I doubt we’ll be seeing anything too revealing. As such, we’ll probably just have to make due with the following 15 pictures of Hayden Panettiere, and imagine what might have been. On the plus side, it’s only a matter of time before the actual Amanda Knox poses for Playboy, so we’ve got that to look forward to. I’m thinking a prison-themed pictorial is in order.

Tatum, who married actor Channing Tatum in 2009, is best known for her role in Step Up and for her appearances in such films as The Hot Chick and The Grudge 2.

A word from Jenna: ”I believe [nudity in films and television] is overused. I think there are a few times in movies and maybe a few TV shows, where scenes do call for it and there is a certain sense of realism. But you can tell when a girl didn’t want to show nudity, and it’s pretty obvious.”
