Tonight, the world’s craziest crabbers are back in action as the 5th season of Deadliest Catch kicks off on Discovery Channel. On Fringe, a PETA-like organization accidentally turns loose a Chimera-like creature that gives the crew some serious problems. You preview after the break.

Last week, Olivia established a silent bond with a mute child who has been living under a building targeted for demolition, and their connection coincided with the reappearance of a serial killer who is known for macabre public displays of his deadly deeds. Tonight, an animal-rights organization’s rescue mission at a laboratory backfires when it releases a vicious beast, almost mythological in appearance with a lion’s body and eagle’s talons, and Charlie is in danger of being its latest victim.

The opener of the fifth season finds two captains combating life-threatening illnesses while the fleet strives to recover from debts incurred by summer repair bills.
