HBO has ordered Ballers from executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson, ensuring that Michael Bay's Pain and Gain will have a douchey effect on the culture well past its own shelf-life. The show centers on the lives of current and retired NFL players as they hang out and walk around in slow motion together. Johnson stars as a retired player and leads the cast that also includes Rob Corddry, Omar Benson Miller, Denzel Washington's son, and Taylor Cole as The Rock's love interest.

It's a half-hour dramedy from some of the team that brought you Entourage, so expect the first few seasons to be good and then resolve yourself to having to watch it while waiting for whichever really good drama comes on afterward. (Deadline)
