SNL Alum Bill Hader To Develop HBO Comedy Series

He's pretty excited about the opportunity.

Bill Hader, best known for his portrayal of the pan-sexual weirdo club kid Stefon on SNL, will be taking his talents to HBO to “create and star in a new comedy.”

So there.

Hader has kept busy since leaving the sketch comedy show, appearing in the upcoming IFC series American Documentary, Judd Apatow‘s Trainwreck, David Wain‘s They Came Together, and Skeleton Twins. Better add a full time starring and showrunning role in a TV series to that slate, Billy.

No details are given, but we’re guessing that HBO is still in damage mode after what they did to us a year ago with The Red Wedding. We need to laugh. Oh, how we need to laugh.

In case you’re wondering if HBO is going to run out of Sunday to air their shows…probably. But they’ll probably just make more, or have government stop work on all Mondays so that Mondays are Sundays, and Sundays are some other new day that’s also really good for HBO.

I haven’t worked out all the details yet.
