Showtime Renews Shows About Shows And Alcoholism

Monday, February 28 by

Here’s some good news for fans of Showtime’s one-word-titled freshman sitcomsShameless” and “Episodes:” both will be returning for second seasons. The hourlong dramedy Shameless, starring William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum, will be back for a 12 episode season two, while the Matt Leblanc starring meta show-about-a-show “Episodes” will return for another season, but the episode order isn’t known. Both are smaller, thoughtful shows that are getting to the point of being strong and compelling but maybe  needed a second season to get there. It’ll be great to see more strong original programming on the network to act as a companion to”Weeds,” which has been coasting on fumes and Justin Kirk’s charm for several years now.
