It's President's Day, and interesting news stories are notoriously scarce on holidays, so let's make hay while the sun is shining with this one. Scrubs, the sort-of-adored hospital comedy that sort of became a dramedy, and became very meta in its later seasons, is becoming a musical.

Why? Because creator Bill Lawrence wants to. And that's that.

The show won't draw from any particular episode, but will draw generally from the themes and characters. Yes, Zach Braff will be involved, and no, he won't be acting/singing in it.

If you're having a hard time digesting this news, take solace in the fact that it probably won't run until 2017, and America will be an apocalyptic dystopia by then, with only government dignitaries and robot assassins allowed access to Broadway musicals.
