If I had to pick a character from the DC universe to get his or her own TV show, Robin would probably have been somehwere near the bottom of the list near Hawkman, but The Graysons, which tells the story of the Boy Wonder before he falls in with Batman has apparently gotten the green light by the CW. Here’s hoping it’s not another Birds of Prey. Yikes.
It’s being executive produced by McG and some of the guys who worked on Smallville, which might be disappearing after this season, so there’s a chance that it might actually be pretty good. Plus, we’ll get to watch for all the little Batman allusions so we can point at the screen and giggle like a school girl every time someone’s casually reading a newspaper with Bruce Wayne’s name on the cover.
With all of that said, I have to wonder if this will afffect Christpher Nolan’s view on bringing Robin into the Dark Knight universe. Personally, I hope they keep him out of it all together, but having a TV show to tie-into probably isn’t a bad thing when you’re trying to follow up one of the most popular movies of all time.
