It's not often that entertainment outlets get to report on networks taking a chance on something that's original and...good, but NBC has done something like that with Salvation, a drama about the behind the scenes workings and personalities of a Texas mega church.

In case the name didn't clear things up, a mega church is a really, really, really big church, the type of which has come under fire for its treatment of religion as a business, and a sometimes shady on at that.

While plot details are scant (essentially, "A mother tries to defend her children and fair after her husband dies mysteriously"), let's hope that the message and drama doesn't get watered down in an effort to appease the significant audience members that are just fine with mega churches, thankyouverymuch.
