NBC Renews Three Thursday Night Comedies (Done Right)
Hint: none of them are 'Outsourced'.
In a move that would probably surprise anyone who still pays attention to ratings, NBC has given season pickups to"The Office," "Parks And Recreation," and "Community." The fan favorites "Parks" and "Community" are building solid core audiences, but have yet to catch on with a wide crowd. "The Office" is still pulling down considerably more solid ratings, however we'll see if that persists next season with the departure of it's star, Steve Carell.
This is incredibly encouraging news. "Parks" and "Community" continue to grow in ways that should serve as inspiration to anyone who thinks that great television can't thrive on network TV. Let's hope all three shows stay around forever, or just long enough to not wear out their welcome. (Hollywood Reporter)
