NBC, in a move so shockingly logical that it must have been made by someone other than NBC, has picked up 13 episodes of a sit-com starring The Office's Ellie Kemper, and backed by the creators of 30 Rock.

Hmm. Sounds promising.

The series will follow Kemper as she picks up the pieces of her life after escaping from a cult and starting over in New York City. "It's like Caroline in the City meets Martha Marcy May Marlene!" is what some exec probably said behind a desk made of posing orphans.

NBC has had some bad luck with both their new comedies, and faltering from their established ones this year. After passing on the much-anticipated Mulaney, it's nice to see them pull their head out of their bottoms and make a good bet like this.
