When "Lost" was winding down, I had two big questions. Where the hell is Walt, and what embarrassing roles will Jorge Garcia have to play going forward? Hopefully, he won't have to at all because there's news this morning that he's re-teaming with J.J. Abrams. Garcia has landed the lead role in "Alcatraz."

The pilot for Fox is about a group of Alcatraz prisoners and guards who reappear in the modern day after vanishing over 30 years ago (if it turns out they were in purgatory, I'm going to shoot my television.). And Jorge Garcia is on the case as Dr. Diego Soto, the world's foremost expert on Alcatraz. Really, Fox? Somebody came in to your boardroom with an idea about an Alcatraz expert and you saw a show in that? I suspect this one passed on Abrams's name recognition alone. Good thing McG isn't executive producing. If that were the case, this thing would be called "Dr. Alcatraz" and the prisoners would be hot chicks. You just know they would. (Deadline)
