The names stitched onto the canvas chairs on the set of NBC‘s The Munsters reboot are about to get redundant. X-Men director Bryan Singer has signed on to the Bryan Fuller produced series. Singer will executive produce and direct the show’s pilot. Fuller’s previous works include Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls, and Dead Like Me. All are known for striking visual style, sarcastic voice, and poignant moments. Singer seems like a perfect choice to pull off that blend.

Based on the campy 1960’s comedy about a family of monsters living in suburbia, Fuller’s reboot reinvents the series as an hour-long drama. With any luck, Sir Ian McKellen will play the role of Grandpa. (Deadline)
