Sooooooooo, those suits at AMC, after realizing they could put on a wrap-up talk show following their most popular series, now realize that they can make whole other series out of their most popular series.

Last week it became clear that Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman spinoff, Better Call Saul, was moving forward, so it was only a matter of time (five days?) before the network announced that they would be spinning off a Walking Dead series.

Of course, the first difference that comes to mind between these spinoffs, of which relatively little is known, is that Breaking Bad will be off the air when Saul comes to life, while Walking Dead will most likely not be, meaning one network will be offering us two zombie shows. Perhaps it's better than Low Winter Sun, but that's not a tough bar to clear.

The show will take place in the Walking Dead universe, but will not be rooted in the comic books already written. The President of AMC, Charlie Collier, said in the announcement the spinoff will contain "an entirely new story and cast of characters." He added, “It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse."

And that's all we know right now. Stay tuned.
