Fans of the FX animated sitcom/spy thriller "Archer" have reason to go for a celebratory South American political assassination, because "Archer" is reportedly getting a third season. Negotiations have been going on for about two weeks to renew the Thursday-night hit, which some are speculating means that the show might be getting a multi-season renewal, which would be good news for anyone who likes good animated comedy. This wouldn't be an unprecedented deal, either, since FX took a similar action when it renewed "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" in 2008.

I'd be thrilled to hear that "Archer" is getting a multi-year renewal, but for now I'm happy with the news that it's even getting one more season. Good comedies have a way of getting canceled before their time, so we should all feel fortunate. (via Vulture)
