In the ninth episode from the first season, the manager of "Party Down" hires the catering crew for his own high school reunion, which he plans to also work. If that's not weird enough, he pounds down a bottle of whiskey in front of the reunion, falling off the wagon, due to the fact that he is an alcoholic.

From the second season, fourth episode of "Party Down," the catering crew works at a black man's funeral and uncover the fact that he has had a lot of children out of wedlock throughout his life. A good funeral turns into a dramatic family disaster, due primarily to the crew itself.

From the second season, third episode of "Party Down," the crew works a party where a guy is planning on getting his guests into one room to have an orgy with him. This leads to excessive amounts of weirdness and uncomfortable moments, ranging from a drunk guy being left on a stranger's lawn to some unnecessary nudity.
