What’s On TV This Weekend: Friday, October 2nd – Sunday, October 4th, 2009

Down and out rockers, a washed-up martial artist, a Seinfeld reunion, and a Matt Damon freak out. This weekend’s television is a range of emotions.

Time: 9 – 10PM

 

Reasons to watch: Complications arise when Echo is imprinted with the memory of a mother with a newborn baby. The problem is that when her maternal instincts kick in, she kicks in people’s faces.

 

Network: ABC

Time: 10 – 11PM

 

Reasons to watch: ABC News focuses on Albinism tonight with profiles on several who possess the pigmentary disorder. Among those profiled are a performer, a standup comic/filmmaker, and a Tanzanian woman who was nearly murdered due to the local belief that the limbs of albinos possess magic qualities. As if the hot African sun weren’t enough to cope with.

Reasons to watch: Jean-Claude Van Damme stars as himself in this meta crime drama. Based in an alternate reality JCVD tries to pick up the shreds of his tattered life. He’s just lost his daughter in a custody battle, he isn’t winning any roles, and now he’s found himself mixed up in a hostage situation. They should make one of these about Steven Seagal. The plot of which could be his life falls into turmoil when he gets his hands caught in two Pringles cans.

 

Network: VH1

Time: 10 – 11:30PM

 

Reasons to watch: VH1 gives Anvil! The Story Of Anvil a little press-push before the DVD releases this Tuesday. The documentary follows the Canadian rockers on the road as they take a final stab at fame and fortune. Hopefully this will give the band the attention they have deserved for so long. It’s got to be hard to make a living when only school busdrivers know your music.

Time: 9 – 9:30PM

 

Reasons to watch: The much-anticipated "Seinfeld reunion" arc begins on tonight’s episode of Curb with Larry trying to convince Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer to all take part. I’m sure it will be no small task. Seinfeld is sitting pretty on all that Bee Movie money, Elaine has that show that wins Emmys, and the other two have Celebrity Poker Tournaments to attend.
