A daring comedy from the 70s, a comedy about a daredevil, and three sci-fi programs depending on whether or not you believe the Apollo Moon landing actually happened. These are the best options for TV watchin’ tonight.

TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH (PART 1)
Network: BBC America
Reasons to Watch: Last week, we gave you a little taste o’ Torchwood, a spinoff of the ‘Beeb’s über-popular "Dr. Who" series. Tonight begins Part 1 of the 5-Part event (happening every night this week). If you’re a "Torchwood" geek then you need no incentive to watch. If you know nothing of Captain Jack Harkness & co., then you can check out the PREVIEW SHOW happening from 8-9pm, where you’ll be provided with character profiles etc. – everything necessary to bring you up to speed for some Whedon-by-way-of-Wales sci-fi fun.
WHEN WE LEFT EARTH: 40th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL
Reasons to Watch: This ridiculously in-depth hour-long special will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the famed Apollo 11 mission other than whether or not we actually landed on the Moon. If we didn’t land on the Moon, then why weren’t Hollywood special FX in the 1970s all that good? And if we DID land on the Moon, then why does Neil Armstrong’s Moonwalk look NOTHING like Michael Jackson’s?!? Hmmmm?
Network: Fox Movie Channel
Reasons to Watch: Jewish comedian + Black comedian = funny. Gene Wilder + Richard Pryor = timeless. Watch this movie if you want to laugh. Actress Jill Clayburgh is pretty easy on the eyes, too.
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION "CLUES"
Reasons to Watch: "Clues" is one of THE seminal episodes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Why? Because it’s one of the period piece ones, when the crew of the Enterprise exchange their Star Fleet uniforms in favor of old timey costumes (this time from Capone-era Chicago). So, no, the image of Patrick Stewart & Whoopi Goldberg is not from the ill-fated Sister Act III: Time Travelin’ Nuns, so ill-fated it never happened. Warp speed and be engaged by this episode!
Network: Showtime 2
Reasons to Watch: Because Holy Taco editor Justin Thomas tells me that this film uses every song from Swedish rock band Europe’s seminal 1986 album The Final Countdown except… "The Final Countdown." Beedle doo dooooo! Ba-da-bah daht- dooo!
