In walks Nan, who wants to know what’s so special about Sookie. Bill, covered in blood, doesn’t betray her and is sworn in as king by Nan. Sworn in by the ”one true vampire authority.” So…the monarchs are controlled by the AVL and they are controlled by the authority. Interesting…
Back at Fangtasia, Pam explains to Sookie why she should let Eric protect her. Sookie waits for him while Jessica (who never got that Advil after all) lets her hair down and takes the hand of the fangbanger who was flirting with her the other night. In the witches coven, Marnie announces her intention to bring a person back from the dead. Around a campfire, Club Shifter talks about the weirdest thing they ever turned into. This all beats my Sunday night. Luna reveals that she shifted into her dead mom. (Cue record scratch.) What? Well, Luna grew up on a Navajo reservation, where she grew up listening to the legends of the Skin Walkers. In that particular mythology, these were horrible, evil witches who could only gain their power (which includes turning into another person) by killing another shifter. Luna’s mom died giving birth to her, so…right then, they smell another shifter! Tommy has been listening in!
At the coven meeting, Eric shows up, offering himself as a dead body. Lafayette backs into a corner. Remember his adventures in Eric’s basement? At Fangtasia, Sookie runs into Jessica, who is slurping off her boy toy in a bathroom stall. She tells Sookie that Bill is still broken hearted about her and that she, Jessica, doesn’t need a step mom. ”I can eat who I want!” I said that once…but it was about a man I made out of Easy Cheese.
In the woods, Sam catches up with Tommy. They chat…naked. Yep. Naked. Sam discovers that Tommy’s leg is fine. While naked. They have a heart to heart. Naked. They decide to try to earn each other’s trust. Naked.
At the coven, Eric puts his foot down. He tells them they can’t meet anymore and bites Marnie. The coven starts chanting. When Eric goes for Tara (who tried to stake him), Lafayette has had enough. He joins them and Marnie goes all bad ass on Eric. She starts switching faces and her eyes get all glowy. Eric walks out, stunned. Ooh…it’s coming! That plot…don’t worry. I won’t spoil it.
In Hotshot, Crystal and Felton enter the room and reveal their plan. She’s going to get preggers by Jason so they can keep the were-panther bloodline going. Guess what they have to do to make that happen! Yup! They turn into kitties and gnaw on him a bit. It’s nice to know that there is just a little less inbreeding in Hotshot tonight, isn’t there?
Finally, we see Sookie driving home. She runs into a shirtless Eric. (Thank you True Blood.) He has no idea who he is and asks her why she smells so good. Now, I’ve read the books so I know what’s coming. So I’m dying to know what you all thought of the set up. (Try not to spoil it for everyone or put a spoiler notice on your comment.) I’m happy to be past the catch up portion of the season and into the meat of the story. Also, the panthers chewing on Jason may have been the grossest thing I’ve seen on TV this year. Alright fangbangers. Start talking!
