The Simpsons

POSTED BY | THURSDAY AUGUST 21 AT 1:19 PDT

The Simpsons has been churning out funny episodes since before some of you were born. Sure, it has had its ups and downs, but, ultimately, no show has turned out more laughs. Some of us have spent more time with this four-fingered, yellow family than we have with our own families and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Yeah, it will eventually come to an end, but for now, just sit back and enjoy. Or go into the comments and argue about how it's not funny any more, or how much better (or worse) it is than family guy.

Network: Fox

Airs: Sundays at 8 PM

An artist named monomauve designed this impressive bust of The Simpsons nuclear power plant owner Mr. Burns. If you speak computer graphics talk, it was done with Zbrush and rendered in 3ds max. Now this is some art I can get behind. I wouldn't mind owning an entire museum of Simpsons busts displayed prominently on pedestals. Oh the conversations they'd have with each other in my mind...Check out more of monomauve's work here. More...

The Simpsons just aired their 450th episode to celebrate 20 years of avoiding the network ax, but there’s still plenty more exciting things to come in Springfield. Al Jean, showrunner for 18 of the 20 years of The Simpsons (he only left to run The Critic for two short-lived seasons), told us about some exciting Simpsons events and guest stars coming up.“January 31st we have an episode where one of our fans created a character,” Jean said over drinks at the Fox party during the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “So that character debuts in that episode. Coming up we have Sarah Silverman in an episode. We have Sacha Baron Cohen playing an Israeli tour guide. We just recorded Jon Hamm today [Jan. 11] for an episode that airs in December.”More about the season finale after the jump. More...

In celebration of the 20th season of The Simpsons, a contest was held to create a new character. The winner of the 25,000+ received entries is 52 year-old Peggy Black of Orange, CT. Her character, Ricardo Bomba (pictured below), is a handsome, smooth-talking, hot-blooded lothario who's set to liquify the town's panties on the January 31st episode."Rrrri-carrr-do Bomba," Black said when describing the character, extravagantly rolling the "R's" in Spanish-language fashion. She then added, "You look mah-velous!!!" Soon after, her spinning bowtie went awry and cut her chin up pretty badly. (Yahoo) More...

Bonus Features: Ralph Wiggum Is Rich

THE SIMPSONS | Recaps | Videos | Forum | News | Photos
I guess all of that Simpsons money should be more than enough to buy Ralph Wiggum a nice Bimmer, but he doesn't have to flaunt it like that. Cartoon characters are real, right? I hope so. Otherwise all of that stock I bought in the Planet Express delivery company isn't going to be worth much. But then again, I guess no stock is worth much right now. Take that economy! More...

Best. Simpsons. Toys. Ever. From Kidrobot

Don't worry, this isn't going to turn into some nerdy blog where we pine over plastic X-men or anything, but these limited edition Simpsons figures from hipster savior, Kidrobot would definitely look good all over my desk. Of course, $8 seems a little steep for a 3-inch vinyl figure, when it comes to art, I would definitely rather spend my dough on these than some painting. More...
