Lost

POSTED BY Screen Junkies | TUESDAY JULY 22 AT 12:05 PDT

Since Lost hit the air, companies have been losing money every Friday, because all employees want to do is search for conspiracy theories on the internet and stand around the water cooler arguing about why that fat guy wasn't losing any weight. Not only has it gathered one of the biggest, cult-like followings for any current TV show, it's also helped producer, JJ Abrams overtake Josh Whedon as the lord of TV nerds everywhere.

According to Ben, it's time for him to be judged by the smoke monster, so Locke takes him along to do just that, encountering Sun and Fred along the way. We get more backstory and a few flashbacks summarizing Ben's experience growing up on the island and his many dealings with Widmore. This week's Lost finally starts to delve into the mysteries of the island with more depth, and it offers up some pretty superb moments, right after the jump. More...

Ben is in critical condition from the gunshot wound as everybody in the village runs in circles trying to figure out how to save him, save for one very stubborn doctor.  We also get some Kate flashbacks in this episode, where we find out exactly what happened with her and Aaron.  It’s all in this week’s Lost, after the jump. In a Sayid-centric episode, we learn more of the details behind how exactly he got on that flight and why exactly he stopped working for Ben. He also befriends a young Ben Linus in 1977, and Juliette, Kate, and Sawyer experience a little bit of awkwardness over the whole love triangle. (Or love square if you count Jack). It's another pretty good Lost, right after the jump. More...

So whatever happened to Sawyer and the gang since Locke pushed the old whirly-wheel? Well, according to this episode, their time jumps have been fixed, but unfortunately they're about thirty years before the time they crashed on the island.  We jumps back and forth between present time and three years from now, watching the present Sawyer & Co. encounter both Others and Dharma, while future Sawyer & Co. are members of the Dharma Initiative, trying to help a a pregnant woman in labor, with romance blossoming on the side between two most unlikely lovers...and it's all in this week's Lost, after the jump. Locke, back on the mainland, three years later (hint: where the Oceanic Six are, dumbass), finds himself soon face to face not with Ben or Eloise Hawking but Charles Widmore, who soon introduces him to his old friend Abaddon, who will help him convince his friends to go back with him, and by help he means “chauffeur.”  Locke goes to meet several of the Oceanic Six, and some others too, including one teenager who has an older but very familiar face.  Check it out in another jaw-dropping Lost, after the jump. The episode opens with Jack, Hurley, and Kate meeting up on the island. We flash back to Eloise as she explains to Jack, Sun, and Desmond how the Dharma Initiative discovered the island, giving instructions to Jack to collect something that belonged to Christian to take back with Locke’s body. There’s no sign of the islanders in this episode, which is kind of disappointing because we still didn’t get to find out what happened to Locke right after he righted the wheel, but there are some other pretty cool revelations, and it’s all in another great Lost, right after the jump. Jin has a mini-adventured with Danielle Rousseau, meeting up with Sawyer and the gang later, and having an encounter with the good old smoke-cloud monster along the way.  On the mainland, Ben’s still trying to get everyone together, despite Sayid and Kate both walking off, and how he has a hook:  he knows Sun’s husband is alive, and he can prove it to her. Find out how, just after the jump. More...

Kate’s still trying to avoid having to go through the blood test, Ben, Sayid, and Jack have to get Sun and Hurley before it’s too late, and back on the island, more people start to get nosebleeds as their jumps through time become more frequent, putting some of them back in strangely familiar surroundings. Check it out after the jump. More...

Okay, now that we’re all done releasing our three-minute long sighs of relief that the best drama on TV is back, it’s time to take a look at where our beloved islanders and mainlanders are nowadays. The islanders discover that they’ve somehow been unhinged from time and are bouncing around different times on the island, and Jack and Ben unite to recruit their old friends for a return visit to the island. Kate is also confronted with a choice to make about Aaron, and Hurley has to find a way to hide a dangerously tranquilized Sayid after they’re nearly shot down by assassins waiting in the gloom of Sayid’s room. It’s riveting, it’s fun, it’s a must watch, and it’s also right after the jump. More...
