"The L Word" cast includes a diverse group of people with incredible talent. "The L Word" centers around a group of lesbian friends who live in Los Angeles. The main character doesn't realize she is gay until she attends a party thown by a lesbian couple and has her first lesbian encounter. The cast includes some well known names as well as some relative unknowns.
Mia Kirshner. Mia Kirshner is the cast member who plays the lead character Jenny. If you watch TV you will probably recognize Kirshner from the series "24". She made a few guest appearances on the show over the course of the series. She also appeared in the movie "The Black Dahlia", which was released back in 2006.
Jennifer Beals. Beals has come a long way since we first saw her in "Flashdance" back in the 80's. Since then she has appeared and starred in several different roles, and for a little while longer you can catch her on "The Chicago Code." As a member of "The L Word" cast, Beals plays Bette Porter, a college dean. Beals is not only a good actress though, she is also smart with a degree in American Literature from Yale.
Leisha Hailey. Haily plays Alice Pieszecki who is a journalist and radio announcer. She is a good ft as a cast member for a show about lesbians since she is known for having a relationship with K.D. Lang. Hailey is also a singer and is in a band called Uh Huh Her.
Laurel Holloman. The character of Tina Kennar is played by cast member Laurel Holloman. Holloman is probably most well known for playing Justine on the series "Angel" back in 2001 and 2002. Holloman has spent a lot of time doing live theater and has appeared in several off-Broadway productions.
Katherine Moennig. It doesn't hurt to have famous family members. Moennig, who plays Shane McCutcheon, is one of Gwyneth Paltrow's cousins. This diverse actress has appeared in the movies, on TV, and on stage. As a cast member of "The L Word", her character Shane is a hairdresser, and is the resident bad girl.
