"the office" cast has kept the hit NBC series at the top of primetime since the series' premiere in March of 2005. "The Office" is a mokumentary starring a varied, comedic cast lead by the famous Steve Carell. "The Office" is produced by Ricky Gervais, the star and originator of the original United Kingdom version. Since then, the cast has propelled the series to be the most successful out of all Gervais' spin-offs to date.

  1. Steve Carell as Michael Scott. Carell's character Michael Scott is a clueless, socially-awkward manager working for the Dunder Mifflin paper company. He is highly enthusiastic, often going to extremes distracting other employees. Steve Carell, in real life, is a comedian who has been active in Hollywood since 1996.

  2. Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute. The "Assistant to the Regional Manager", Dwight Schrute, is an egomaniacal sales representative in the form of a nerd. Rainn Wilson, his real-life alter ego, has also been in a wide-variety of roles in series such as "CSI", "Law and Order: SVU", and "NUMB3RS".

  3. John Krasinski as Jim Halpert. The 'every guy' of  "The Office", Jim Halpert is a cynical, good looking guy who has a crush on the receptionist. John Krasinski is currently married to English actress Emily Blunt; the couple has been dating since 2008.

  4. Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly. Better known as "Pam Halpert" in later seasons, Jenna Fischer's character is Jim's assertive wife, although she began as the meek receptionist of Dunder Mifflin. Fischer has been Emmy-nominated for her role as Beesly on "The Office".

  5. Ed Helms as Andy Bernard. The "'Nard Dogg" is the resident cocky tool of a salesperson at Dunder Mifflin. Bernard initially begins with many anger problems, but they are eventually dissipated from the character over time. Ed Helms, like Steve Carell, got his start as a correspondent for the "Daily Show".

  6. B.J. Novak as Ryan Howard. "The Office" just wouldn't be complete without its temp. Ryan, beginning as a temporary worker for Dunder Mifflin, eventually climbs his way up the ladder to secure a full-time position with the company. B.J. Novak has been life-long friends with fellow "The Office" co-star John Krasinski since grade school.

  7. Paul Lieberstein as Toby Flenderson. As Darryl refers to him, "that red-haired guy with the sad eyes" is Toby Flenderson. An H.R. representative sent from corporate to the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, Toby is generally very kind albeit regretfully conscious of the rules around "The Office" Paul Lieberstein is actually a writer for "The Office" as well.

  8. Brian Baumgartner as Kevin Malone. Kevin is an odd fellow who has a knack for computer pornography, interesting oddities, and social awkwardness. Malone also suffers from hyperhidrosis, in which his feet sweat profusely. Brain Baumgartner is an American actor who got his first big break with his role on "The Office" in 2005.

  9. Angela Kinsey as Angela Martin. Sharing the same first name as her real-life counterpart, Angela in the office party-pooper who generally disapproves of most anything. Angela Kinsey is a real-life actress who, born in Lafayette, Louisiana, has been acting since 1997.

  10. Craig Robinson as Darryl Philbin. When not dealing with his boss, Darryl is quite subtle and silly. Philbin is eventually promoted to an office desk later when Jo is impressed with his ideas. Craig Robinson, his acting counterpart, is an American comedic actor known for his notable roles in "Hot Tub Time Machine" and "Pineapple Express".

From Steve Carell to Ed Helms, "The Office" cast is full of both stars and newcomers to the industry. Each actor and character brings a little something to the cast, show, and chemistry in general. So next time you get a chance to, tune in to see what all the buzz is about!
