Hundreds of "Seinfeld" quotes can be found in the television series "Seinfeld", which starred comedian Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards. The sitcom dominated network television ratings for most of the 1990s. The show followed the four, who played friends and neighbors in New York City, and was a goldmine for memorable quotes. Here are some of the best "Seinfeld" quotes from the series.

  1. "Serenity now!"  - This "Seinfeld" quote was made famous by Frank Costanza, played by Jerry Stiller, who was George Costanza's (Jason Alexander) father on the show. The saying was supposedly a relaxation technique, but instead of chanting it, Frank chose to yell it at the top of his lungs over and over.
  2. "The question is: Are you still master of your domain?" – During the episode "The Contest", Jerry, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George and Kramer (Michael Richards) take a bet to see which one of them can refrain from self-pleasure the longest. The actual term for the practice was never used in the episode, but Jerry and his friends used the term "master of your domain" to refer to sexual self-restraint.
  3. "Not that's there anything wrong with that." – After being mistakenly labeled as a gay couple, Jerry and George try to clear up any confusion about their sexuality without being offensive to gay people. This quote was used during that episode of "Seinfeld" each time they denied being homosexual.
  4. "Yada, yada, yada." – George's girlfriend in one of the episodes frequently used this quote to gloss over details she felt were insignificant. He later found out the details his girlfriend had omitted included sleeping with an ex-boyfriend and shoplifting.
  5. "She had man hands." - This "Seinfeld" quote comes from one of Jerry's many dates with women during the series. After meeting one woman at a restaurant, he claimed she had "man hands" and was "one part woman, one part horrible beast". This later caused him to break up with her.
  6. "I couldn't decide if he was really spongeworthy." – After Elaine discovers that her favorite birth control method, the Today Sponge, has gone off the market, she decides to buy every one left in New York City. In an effort to conserve the sponges, she begins reevaluating the men she dates to decide if they're "spongeworthy" before sleeping with them.
  7. "I'm out there baby and I'm lovin' every minute of it!" – Kramer finds out he has a low sperm count and decides to stop wearing briefs on the advice of his doctor. Since he doesn't like boxers, he decides to wear no underwear at all. Jerry and Elaine learn this when Kramer delivers this "Seinfeld" quote in Jerry's apartment.
  8. "These pretzels are making me thirsty." – This "Seinfeld" quote is from an episode where Kramer gets a minor part in a Woody Allen movie. His line was "These pretzels are making me thirsty." All four of the characters end up using this quote at some point in the episode, Jerry and George to express frustration and Elaine to express discomfort.
  9. "It's not a lie if you believe it." -  Jerry agrees to take a polygraph test to prove to his police officer girlfriend that he has never seen the television sho Melrose Place. Before going down to the station, he gets this advice about lying from George.
  10. "A Festivus for the rest of us!" – After being unable to buy young George a toy at Christmas, Frank Costanza decides to invent his own holiday, free of commercialism. He called it "Festivus" and celebrated it along with his family. The festivities included the "Airing of Grievances" and the "Feats of Strength". The only decoration was a plain metal pole. Some people have actually begun celebrating Festivus instead of Christmas and using this "Seinfeld" quote during the season.
