Modern Family Quotes
"Modern Family" quotes are funny because most of the time the quotes seem to remind of us our own day to day world. Of course, we also know that the show takes those everyday situations to the extreme but at the same time the show is so popular because it allows us to see the funny parts of every day.
"Why are you guys yelling at us? We were way upstairs. Just text me." - The oldest daughter of the "Modern Family" Dunphy clan, Haley says this to her parents when the family engages in the good old past time of yelling back and forth across the house. This statement seems to illustrate just how different family life is these days compared to generations past.
"I text. LOL: laugh out loud, OMG: Oh, my god, WTF: Why the face?" - Phil Dunphy is the classic "Modern Family" father who wants to be much cooler than he actually is. Phil is of course appalling to his children and oddly appealing to everyone else. He's not actually dumb, he simply tries way to hard to do things he's not good at.
"Yes, I've gained a few extra pounds while we were expecting the baby... but that's science. You can't fight it." - In "Modern Family" Cameron Tucker is the slightly more female side of the Mitchell and Cam couple. Of course the comedy in this quote is that Cameron and Mitchell adopted a baby and the extra pounds Cam is talking about is of course not baby weight.
"Don't worry dad, nothing gay going on here." - Mitchell Prichett is Cam's partner and while his family has accepted that he is gay, there are still some growing pains. Mitchell's relationship with his father isn't exactly strained but there is a bit of feeling out from both sides. While Mitchell's father loves him, he gets a bit uncomfortable around Cam and Mitchell.
"When I heard Manny wanted to fence, I was, like, sure. Uncoordinated kid, letha weapon. How can this go wrong?" - Jay is the patriarch of the "Modern Family" Dunphy clan. While he likes to consider himself a traditional man he finds himself remarried to a beautiful Latin woman who comes equipped with a rather eccentric son. Jay and Manny's relationship has always been a little off as neither really understands the other.
"Our son is not weird. What's weird is that her kid wears after shave and dresses like a count." - Claire Dunphy is the wife of Phil and the daughter of Jay. She is the classic "Modern Family" daughter who feels a bit threatened by her father's new wife and since she has a son Manny's age there is a little competition there as well. Claire's son is less than brilliant and so she felt the need to point out the oddities of Manny in this situation.
