Jump Into Bed with the Sex And The City Cast

The 94 episodes of the hit HBO show were made exceptional because of the incredible “Sex and the City” cast. In each new episode from 1998 to 2004, "Sex and the City" began with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) asking a question which always started with “I couldn’t help but wonder…” that led the cast into the weekly storyline.

Sarah Jessica Parker.  

Parker plays the main character Carrie Bradshaw, a single writer of the lovelorn living in New York City. Sarah Jessica Parker was born in Nelsonville, Ohio on March 25, 1965. Parker began her acting career as a child with four of her siblings in a production of “the Sound of Music” in an outdoor theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. She appeared in the musical “Annie” and “The Innocents”. Her first notable movie was “Footloose” in 1974 playing the role of Rusty. Other notable movies Parker had roles in were “L.A. Story” in 1991, “Honeymoon in Vegas” in 1992, “Hocus Pocus” in 1993, “The First Wives Club” in 1996, before landing the role as Carrie in 1998. Parker won four Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series and an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work in “Sex and the City”.

Kim Cattrall.

As Samantha Jones, Cattrall is the most senior member of the “Sex and the City” cast was born August 21, 1956 in Liverpool, England. Kim’s career began shortly after she graduated from High School where she played a teenager in the 1975 film “Rosebud”. Cattrall appeared in several episodes in a variety of television show from 1977 to 1983 including “Quincy, M.E”., “Columbo”, “Switch”, “Starsky and Hutch”, “The Paper Chase”, “Charlie’s Angels”, and several others. A few of Cattrall’s notable film credits are “Police Academy” 1984, “Bonfire of the Vanities” 1990, and “Mannequin” 1998. In 1991, Cattrall, complete with pointed ears, played Valeris in “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”. Cattrall won a Golden Globe in 2003 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series for her work in “Sex and the City”.

Kristin Davis

Charlotte York Goldenblatt, played by Davis, is the urban Pollyanna on “Sex and the City”. Kristin was born Februar 24, 1965 in Boulder, Colorado. Kristin always knew she wanted to be an actress and began her career at the age of nine in a Workshop Theatre production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. After graduating college, Kristin moved to the big apple where she appeared in “General Hospital”, a popular television soap opera. Kristin had a small role on the popular sitcom “Seinfeld” in 1994. She had a bit part in the 1995 film “Nine Months”. In 1998, she landed the role of Charlotte in HBO’s “Sex and the City”. Kristin received two Screen Actors Guild Awards for her work in “Sex and the City”.

Cynthia Nixon.

Nixon plays Miranda Hobbes, the all business lawyer. Nixon starting acting at the age of 12 and is the most accomplished actress of the ensemble. Her first notable movie was “Little Darlings” in 1980 when she was 14 years of age. Her Broadway debut was in 1980 in the play “The Philadelphia Story”. In 1984, Nixon appeared in two Broadway plays, “The Real Thing” and “Hurlyburly” simultaneously. Big role soon came for Nixon when she appeared in “The Manhattan Project” in 1986. Nixon continued a successful career on stage and in television until landing the role of Miranda in “Sex and the City”. Nixon received two Screen Actors Guild Awards for her work in “Sex and the City”.  Post “Sex and the City”, Nixon went on to earn a Tony Award for Best Performance for her role in “Rabbit Hole” in 2005 and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in 2008. After winning the battle over breast cancer, Nixon became an activist and ambassador for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
