James Belushi leads the "According to Jim" cast of regulars. The series was on television for eight seasons from 2001 to 2009. The story was about the title character, Jim, and his wife, three children, a neighbor and a few other characters. Jim's laziness leads him to find different ways of doing things which helps him to find himself in a variety of situations.
James "Jim" Orenthal is played by James Belushi. Born on June 15, 1954, Belushi grew up in Wheaton, Illinois with his brother, John who is also a famous comedic actor. Jim graduated from the Southern Illinois University and joined Chicago's improv troupe. He was in the series "Working Stiffs" in 1979, then spent two years in "Saturday Night Live." He landed several small roles in a few movies a year, also appearing in single episodes of several TV shows. He did the voice of a few cartoon characters such as Coach Wittenberg in "Hey Arnold!" He finally got his big break when he was in the "According to Jim" cast. Since then he has done a few more small roles on TV and movies.
Larry Joe Campbell played the character of Andy the neighbor. Campbell was born November 29, 1970 in Cadillac Michigan. He received both a Bachelor's degree and a Master of Arts degree. He had a few small roles in a few movies such as "Wedding Crashers" and TV series such as "Friends" before "According to Jim." Lately he has gone back to a few small roles here and there, with a guest spot on "Rules of Engagement."
Courtney Thorne-Smith played Jim's wife, Cheryl. Courtney was born November 8, 1967 in San Francisco, California. She graduated from Tamalpai High School in Mill Valley, CA. She has played recurring roles in several TV series such as "Fast Times," "L.A. Law," "Melrose Place," "Spin City," and "Two and a Half Men" to name a few before joining the cast of "According to Jim."
Kimberly Williams-Paisley played the character of Dana, who is Cheryl's sister. She was born September 14, 1941 in Rye, New York. She began her career when she was a teenager doing commercials, then starred in Father of the Bride parts I and II. After she was in the "According to Jim" cast, she enjoyed a series of guest spots on TV shows including Boston Legal and landed a few character parts in some movies such as How to Eat Fried Worms.
