American Idol Winners List
If you are interested in “American Idol,” you should have a list of past “American Idol” winners. These contestants were the best of the best during each season of “American Idol” and are all great talents that everybody should give a listen to at least once.
Kelly Clarkson The very first season of “American Idol” went to Kelly Clarkson. Clarkson had a few hits since the show, including “Since You’ve Been Gone” and “Because of You” both from her album "Breakaway."
Ruben Studdard After Kelly Clarkson came Ruben Studdard. Studdard was in a dead heat battle against Clay Aiken for the “American Idol” title, but Studdard ended up coming out on top. Studdard's biggest song is easily “Superstar” from his album "Soulful." If you enjoy R&B style music, give Studdard a listen.
Fantasia Barrino In the third season of “American Idol,” Fantasia Barrnio came out on top. Barrino’s biggest hit was “Bittersweet,” which was a Ruben Studdard-like R&B tune. Barrino also had a movie on the Lifetime Movie Network that tells the story of her life from poverty to her rise to fame.
Carrie Underwood The winner of the fourth season of “American Idol,” Carrie Underwood, was the first country singer to win the show. Her biggest country-pop song was “Before He Cheats.” Her debut album "Some Hearts" went seven times platinum.
Taylor Hicks Season five crowned Taylor Hicks the victor of “American Idol.” Hick’s first single was “What’s Right Is Right” and he is known for his energetic stage performances. Hicks most famous album so far has been "The Distance."
Jordin Sparks Sparks won the sixth season of “American Idol.” She is best known for many of her pop tunes, including "No Air" with Chris Brown off her debut album "Jordin Sparks."
David Cook “American Idol’s” seventh season made Cook the next Idol. One of his best tunes is definitely his version of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”
Kris Allen Allen won the eight season of “American Idol.” He is best known for his single “Live Like We’re Dying” off of his debut album "Kris Allen."
Lee Dewyze The most recent “American Idol” winner was Lee Dewyze. His best known single so far has been a cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day.”
