Looking for information on a few "Futurama" characters? "Futurama" is a cartoon that first aired on Fox in 1999. Many people do not realize that Matt Groening is the creator of Futurama. Groening is famous for creating "The Simpsons", as well. The storyline behind "Futurama" focuses on Fry, who is a pizza guy from the 20th century. He ends up getting cryogenically frozen and wakes up in the 31st century.

  1. Fry. Fry was just your basic New York pizza delivery guy until he woke up 1,000 years later. Fry now finds employment as a delivery boy for the Planet Express, which is an interplanetary delivery company. Although Fry is a loving character, his charm is never good enough to land Leela, the girl that he has his eyes on.
  2. Leela. Turanga Leela is the most prominent female character in "Futurama." Leela is a cyclops and is always trying to break the stereotype that comes with only having one eye. Although Fry can never win Leela's affection, that doesn't stop him from trying. Leela is the captain of the Planet Express in "Futurama" and is known for yelling at Fry and Bender for their laziness on the ship.
  3. Bender. Although Bender is not the main character on "Futurama", he is one of the most well known and popular characters. Simply put, Bender is a robot that is full of hate. He is always smoking cigars and drinking beer on "Futurama." If you asked other characters on Futurama to describe Bender, a few words that would come up would be lazy and degenerate sociopath. If you have ever seen Futurama before, you know that he spends a great deal of time trying to come up with ways to kill off the humans.
  4. Professor Farnsworth. Professor Farnsworth is a very old scientist on "Futurama." As a matter of fact, he holds the title of being the oldest living human on earth. Although Leela is the captain of the Planet Express, Professor Farnsworth owns the company. Professor Farnsworth is well known on "Futurama" for inventing doomsday devices.
