Ed Helms is trading up. Heather Graham won't be returning for The Hangover sequel, but Jamie Chung is stepping in. The former "Real World" star won't have to mud-wrestle Coral in the "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" Gulag to make her rent.
With Premium Rush and Suckerpunch under her belt, Chung will next head to Thailand to play the fiancée of Ed Helms's character, Stu. Not sure if she's his fiancée at the start of the film or if they become engaged during a night of Thai debauchery. I'm hoping that they don't meet in Thailand. It will be so depressing to find out she has a penis. (THR)

Last night, Zach Galifiankis appeared on "Real Time with Bill Maher" and made a very strong point about the legalization of marjiuana by sparking a doobie on live TV. None of the other guests would indulge, nor would Maher, which must have taken a huge amount of retraint for the weed-loving host. All of you prudes out there, if you take nothing else away from this video, remember this: smoking grass does not make you see dragons.

Zach Galifianakis, everyone's favorite bearded comedian at the moment, is in talks to appear in the upcoming Muppet movie as a person, even though he looks a helluva lot like Fozzy Bear. Robert Downey Jr. dropped the casting news during a press interview for Due Date. That Downey. He's incorrigable.
Galifianakis would join Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Rashida Jones, and Chris Cooper, who have all already been cast. The new film, directed by James Bobin, will "take place within a showbiz setting and follow the Muppets as they try to save their studio from a greedy oil baron (Cooper) who wants to dig for oil. Segel is set to play the lead who reunites the Muppets for one last show to save the studio; Adams is his girlfriend, while Jones will play an ABC executive." No word yet on what Galifianakis would play. Maybe a film director. It's time he put that beard to good use. (ThePlaylist)

Mel Gibson is out of The Hangover 2 before he was even in it. Earlier this week we reported that Gibson was confirmed for a cameo in Todd Phillips's upcoming sequel to his hit The Hangover, but now TMZ is reporting that Gibson got the boot. Phillips had this to say:
"I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team.  But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew."
It's thought that star Zach Galifianakis might be the one who was most opposed to working with Gibson, which is perplexing considering he's neither Jewish nor one of Mel's exes. Regardless, Gibson won't get a chance at a comeback with a role as a tattoo artist in The Hangover 2, what I hear is the equivalent of saying ten Hail Marys and kicking a terrorist in the balls.

It looks like Zach Galifianakis doesn't want to eat the cooter banana. While appearing recently on the Comedy Death Ray podcast, the notoriously choosey star of G-Force, "Tru Calling," and Out Cold  intimated that he's having some "moral" issues with what Todd Phillips is planning to do on The Hangover 2.
“But a movie you’re acting in, you don’t have a lot of control — you just show up and vomit your lines out. I’m not the boss. I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen] … I’m not making any leeway.” Galifianakis cut host Scott Aukerman off with an abrupt warning sound as the host began to mention the film’s title, but after Aukerman pressed, “I know you’re filming The Hhhhhhhh … ” Galifianakis admitted, “It has something to do with a movie I’m working on, yeah. I’ll tell you about it later. It’s very frustrating.”
People are assuming that Galifianakis is taking issue with the inclusion of a Mel Gibson cameo in the film. Which is kind of silly. Sure, the man is considered vile right now and this is a case of stunt casting in the highest degree, but in all fairness, he was going to be hungover anway. Can you really blame Todd Phillips if he happens to point a camera at it? (Vulture)

Here's a rumor that might be crazy enough to be true. Page Six is reporting that Mel Gibson will have a cameo in The Hangover 2 as a tattoo artist. He'll shoot his scene on the Bangkok set at Warner Bros. before the production moves to Thailand at the end of the month. Can this really be happening? Does director Todd Phillips really want to take this chance? Should Mel Gibson be left around needles when the slightest peak at a skanky extra could set him off?
When Todd Phillips used Mike Tyson in The Hangover people took notice, so perhaps he's using the same strategy in the sequel. Afterall, Tyson bit a man's ear off, and Gibson hasn't done that yet as far as the public record is concerned. Maybe doing a cameo in an outlandish comedy is the perfect way to get back in people's good graces. After the world accepts him as a tattoo artist it might finally be ready to watch him tackle Jodie Foster's Beaver. (/Film)

On this new episode of "Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis," Bruce Willis stops by to be questioned about his poor career choices and Ashton Kutcher. John McClane seems genuinely jaded by the celebrity lifestyle he's lived for so many years. It used to be all bitches and blow, and now he's just waiting around for the phone to ring. If Bruce Willis wasn't still extremely awesome I might tend to believe this. I have a feeling it's still bitches and maybe a little less blow considering it's no longer the 80s.

With Due Date on the horizon, Todd Phillips is ready for The Hangover 2 and has confirmed that it will take place in Thailand. Which means, we will see things that can never be unseen. Things that involve donkeys.
"It takes place in Bangkok and LA. There's gonna be some f***ed-up surprises. The three guys are back. Mr. Chow's back too."
I'm kind of grossed out by this movie already. I'm walking into this with the same anxiousness and dread I feel before watching a Japanese horror film. Popular activities in Thailand include sex with lady-boys and watching strippers eject peeled bananas from their hoo-has, sending them flying a good fifteen-feet across the room. Zach Galifianakis's brother, Seth, takes over for him in this episode of "Between Two Ferns" with guest Sean Penn. The video confirms my belief that Penn is incapable of smiling, and possibly even feeling joy. Maybe I'm wrong though. Maybe the blooper reel is full of Penn rolling on the floor laughing his ass off and his stoic persona is built through the magic of editing. But there's no denying that the ferns look scared sh*tless.

In the latest addition of "Between Two Ferns," guest Steve Carell turns the tables on host Zach Galifianakis. You'd think the two would have formed some semblance of a friendship on the set of Dinner for Schmucks, but Carell is completely on the defense right when the cameras start rolling. These interviews never fail to crack me up, and this one is definitely one of the best. Mainly because Carell has a big nose and Galifianakis is overweight.

A new comedy titled Reply All was pitched around town this week with Zach Galifianakis attached to star. Dreamworks heard that and snatched it up immediately. There's no logline yet, but it's got Zach and that's all that matters for big box office.
Still though, what could this thing be about? Judging by the title, I'm worried. It sounds like a crappy romantic comedy where Kristin Bell and Javier Bardem hate one another because of an email that was sent to the wrong recipients, but then they decide they love one another because he's a straight-talking repairman with a hidden talent for painting and she's a magazine editor. If television and movies have taught me anything, magazine editors always end up with straight-talking repairmen with a hidden talent for painting. It's science. (Deadline)
