FINALLY, someone has gotten their house in order to give the people what they want: the sequel to a Sinbad/Schwarzenegger Christmas film starring Larry the Cable Guy and a professional wrestler.

Who gives us this gift? Why, Larry the Cable Guy and a professional wrestling company!

The wrestler co-starring with Mr. the Cable Guy is Santino Marella. Whatever. I don’t know who that is. I’m sure he’s a fantastic actor, and his costarring with Lawrence will result in a film that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Those parts won’t be making it into theaters, though. This will, inexplicably, be a direct-t0-video affair. I guess that just means we get to own it on Blu-Ray that much sooner.

The question here is whether or not he’ll do his own stunts.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has continued his trend of just doing everything that comes his way and signed on to star in McG‘s big screen adaptation of The Fall Guy – the 1980′s action series that followed a stuntman/bounty hunter originally played by Lee Majors. WWE Entertainment is producing the film and apparently taking it seriously. A stuntman who is also a bounty hunter? That’s one of the more ridiculous moonlighting gigs. That’s even sillier than a movie blogger who is also a pleasure machine for the ladies. I’d say it couldn’t exist if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. (THR)

Some people lean on family. Some lean on friends. Some lean on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to get them through this crazy ride we call life.

Fans of wrestling needn’t just wax nostalgic when it comes to The Rock. Though he’s largely retired from WWE activity, that hasn’t stopped them from subscribing to his “Team Bring It” philosophy. People still love The Rock, and it would appear that they admire him in a way that Ashton Kutcher or Phillip Seymour Hoffman could only dream of. He inspires many people, and while they might not be shouting it from the rooftops, they are certainly bandying about some hashtags to let the Twitterverse know what’s up.

Apparently, if you like WWE star John Cena, then you don’t like The Rock. And if you like The Rock, it’s still ok to like the #justsayin hashtag.

I don’t know if The Rock intended his minions to shirk their academic duties, but that’s something that is happening.

For those of you keeping score, this is Screen Junkies’ fourth Hulk Hogan article in the past three months. You’re welcome.

Appearing on The Wendy Williams Show, which is where I’d go to set the record straight on my sexuality, Hulk Hogan responded to rumors started by his ex-wife Linda that he had a gay affair with Brutus the Beefcake. Hogan declared, “…I don’t get it…if it was true and I was gay, I’d embrace it, and I’d tell you guys about it and I’d celebrate it.”

First of all, it’s refreshing to see a figure from such a bygone, pseudo-masculine era not lash back at rumors he’s gay as if it was a personal attack. Nice work, Hulk Hogan. Score one for the WWE‘s diversity program.

Ok. Now that that’s out of the way, I am extremely curious to see how Hulk Hogan would “celebrate” homosexuality. Bleaching his hair? Garish outfits? A shiny monument of a mustache? I think he’s celebrating it right now. And I love it.

Christmas came early this year, folks.

Sure, this only pertains to entertainment in the most tangential manner possible (reality television/washed-up orange wrestlers), but when two people as ridiculous as Linda and Hulk Hogan start feuding over a story this stupid, it becomes a page one item.

The Hulkamaniacster is suing his ex-wife for alleging that he had a homosexual relationship with fellow wrestler, Brutus Beefcake. Beefcake’s real name is unimportant.

The blonde wrestler is denying the allegations, and seems to be taking it all in stride, offering (via The Sydney Morning Herald):

“After the four-year crazy divorce I thought I’d heard everything I could hear in the courtroom,” he said.

“Then, all of a sudden she says I abused her, that I was violent. She told everybody that I was a homosexual.”

“If any of that was true, I would admit it, and [if] I was a homosexual I would embrace it.”

Let’s get something straight: If Hulk didn’t have a gay affair with a guy named Brutus Beefcake, someone did. Guys named Brutus Beefcake don’t just go around not having gay affairs with men.

As you probably know, Macho Man Randy Savage died today after suffering a heart attack while driving. The news was like a punch to the gut. A fake, carefully choreographed punch, but a punch none the less. I have a lot of fond memories of the Macho Man. Actually, that’s incorrect. I think he’s awesome, but truth be told, I don’t remember why. It’s been 20 years since I watched pro wrestling.

In order to jog my memory, I went straight to Youtube, and was quickly reacquainted with my old friend. In case you’re in the same boat I’m in, here are nine awesome videos of Macho Man Randy Savage.

Good night, sweet prince.

Cocaine?

The 80′s were a crazy time, from what I remember. And if you were lucky enough to be famous back then, chances are you were not a stranger to nose candy. Was the Macho Man on drugs? I have no idea. But after watching this video, I’m certainly not going to rule it out.

More Cocaine?

So, you say Macho Man died of a heart attack? I don’t find that hard to believe. In fact, his heart probably exploded back in 1987, and it’s simpl taken this long for the adrenalin to wear off.

Cage Match Promo

From what I remember, Macho Man and Hulk Hogan were usually on pretty good terms. Obviously, at some point the relationship turned sour. In this clip, Macho teams up with Scary Sherri and Zeus (No Holds Barred, anyone?) to send Hogan a warning. I imagine Hulk pissed himself.

Insane

In this clip, the Macho Man loses his shit. But as he points out, watching another man slap your woman is bound to have that effect.

Breakdown

In this early Macho Man clip, Savage loses his shit yet again. Clearly, he hadn’t fully fleshed out his persona yet. It’s probably for the best that he dropped the crying bit from his act. It’s not very Macho.

History Beckons

History beckons the Macho Man! Well put!

Arsenio

It’s sad that we now live in a world where the words “Arsenio” and “Macho Man” have absolutely no meaning. Truly, all glory is fleeting.

Emotions

For those of you who cried when you heard the news about the Macho Man’s death, don’t be embarrassed. Even he had some confusing emotions from time to time.

Music Video

OK, maybe this isn’t as cool as Hulk Hogan’s music video. But for today, let’s just pretend it is. RIP, Macho Man!

5 Shows That Should Have Been Canceled Before ‘Lights Out’ http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-lists/5-shows-that-should-have-been-canceled-before-light-out/ http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-lists/5-shows-that-should-have-been-canceled-before-light-out/#comments Fri, 25 Mar 2011 00:22:41 +0000 Jame Gumb http://www.screenjunkies.com/?p=203563 These five shows should not be on the air in a world where "Lights Out" gets canceled.

Despite the plethora of crap to be found on TV, FX canceled the critically acclaimed boxing drama, “Lights Out,” due to low ratings. That pisses me off. I’m not saying the show was flawless. In fact, at points, it was pretty stupid. But even so, its writers looked like the reincarnation of William friggen Shakespeare when compared to their competition. How is it that a well scripted, well acted show like “Lights Out” has less of a following than a show about some stereotypical Italian asshole who bakes cakes? I have no idea. But what I do know is that these five shows should not be on the air in a world where “Lights Out” gets canceled.

Any Show With An Abbreviation For A Name

CSI!” “NCIS!” WTF? I’m not even going to argue that all these shows are bad (even though they are mindless trash). Wha I am going to argue is that maybe you don’t need twenty different versions. This goes for “Law and Order,” as well. Doing the exact same thing in a different location is the height of laziness (although “Cash Cab Chicago” gets a pass). New York, Miami, LA: who gives a shit? Murder is murder. Could you please just cancel one of these to make room for my boxing drama?

WWE

If you want to watch a show about two guys pretending to fight, why would you choose WWE over “Lights out?” It doesn’t make sense! “Lights Out” is better written, better acted, more believable, and a thousand times less homoerotic. Granted, if you’re looking for homoerotisim, I get it. But if you’re not, why watch that shit?

Hardcore Pawn”

Look, if you really want to watch a bunch of morons pawning shit, that’s fine. I get it. To be honest, I’ve wasted a lot of time watching it, myself. But do we really need two separate shows? “Pawn Stars” wasn’t enough for you animals? Jesus Christ!

Cake Boss

Oh no! They baked the wrong cake! What the hell are they going to do now? Oh, thank god! They managed to make a new cake just in time! I can see why this show is so popular! Oh wait, no I can’t. Italians should be ashamed of this asshole’s antics. Fugetaboutit!

“The Millionaire Matchmaker”

Watching Patti Stanger turn away girls because they aren’t attractive is like watching Chewbacca tell Bigfoot he needs to shave. Who the hell is she? More importantly, who the hell sits and watches that beast set up imbeciles on phony dates week after week? Well, my girlfriend does, but she’s only 13, so she doesn’t know any better. At any rate, the fact that this show survives while “Lights Out” dies is a travesty.

Stone Cold Steve Austin wants to know if you’re “Tough Enough.” Personally, I know I’m not. Crushing a beer can on my head would send me and my brittle skull to the emergency room. Luckily, there are folks tough enough to engage in highly choreographed fight routines, and they’ll get a chance at a WWE contract starting April 1st.

Like an old, broken down wrestler coming back for one more match, the WWE reality show “Tough Enough” is back in action and taking a lot of pain medication. Originally conceived in 2001 for MTV, the new version will air alongside RAW on USA. The WWE’s most recent attempt at a wrestlers-in-training show, “NXT,” quickly went off the air on Syfy and became a web series, which I would argue is more humiliating than just getting cancelled.

And that’s the entertainment news, because Screen Junkies said so. (EW)
