Jennifer Lawrence is back as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Since we last saw Katniss, she’s now famous for proving her efficiency at murdering teenagers as well as her talent for putting a middle finger in the face of the Capitol. This doesn’t sit well with Donald Sutherland‘s cartoon-evil President Snow and he intends to do something about it. Like beating random old men in front of hundreds of witnesses. That’s really going to hurt the old man vote.

Though the real news here is the addition of Philip Seymour Hoffman to the series. He steps in for Wes Bentley as Plutarch Heavensbee, the new Head Gamemaker tasked with killing off Katniss and the other victors. Regrettably, he doesn’t wear a silly wig or beard. I guess there’s only so much money the studio could drive up to his house.

Critics of the Occupy Wall Street movement have lambasted the group for their lack of organization, clear-set goals, and now, magic. Now You See Me follows a group of snazzy dressed magicians who seemingly teleport into banks and blink out with all of the money. Jesse Eisenberg mixes his Marc Zuckerberg with David Copperfield while joined by Woody Harrelson, who stops preaching the magic of hemp long enough to convince us of the power of actual magic.

However, I think the real magic here is the silky tones of Morgan Freeman. He even made the magic loom from Wanted seem believable.

Daryl Hannah got her ass arrested while protesting the expansion of the Keystone pipeline outside of the White House. That is to say, she was protesting outside the White House. They’re not considering putting the pipeline there. That would be harmful.

In honor of her efforts (he pointless, pointless efforts), here are seven other celebrities who got arrested for having “feelings” and “believing” in things.

Woody Harrelson

Go ahead and guess why Woody Harrelson was arrested. If your guess wasn’t hemp-related, you don’t know Woody (I would have also accepted photographer-punching). Harrelson was arrested on drug charges when he planted hemp seeds in Kentucky, protesting a state drug law that makes no distinction between marijuana and hemp, even though hemp contains very little of the psychoactive chemical found in marijuana and can be used to make a variety of industrial products. He was later acquitted, and probably celebrated after picking up some bleezies.

Hayden Panettiere

As shown in the documentary The Cove, Hayden Panettiere has a warrant out for her arrest in Japan for protesting the annual slaughter of dolphins in Taiji. Luckily, she left the country before police could arrest her. Do you know what they do to hot, young women in Japanese prisons? I don’t. But I bet that would make a really good documentary.

Martin Sheen

Martin Sheen is incredibly politically active and has been arrested 66 times for various protests. He’s got some catching up to do, but we know that Charlie is up to the challenge.

Yes, we do have a trailer for the rainbow-hued, Woody Harrelson and Josh Hartnett-starring, low-budget, cowboys vs. ninjas saga Bunraku. We’ve got it right here.

For good measure, the producers threw Ron Perlman and Demi Moore in the mix as well. Beyond the cast, a sense of production design, and some non-stop kickin’, this trailer doesn’t really offer up too much else. The plot is unclear, but that might not even change upon viewing the film. The film seems like an odd choice for any star to participate in, let alone four, and the effects aren’t terribly impressive, but it’s got a Sin City aesthetic to it that allows for vivid imagery without much money. I doubt you’ll find that as a pull quote on the poster, but this film appears weird enough that maybe you will.

The older you get, the tougher it is to take a shit. That’s probably the jumping off point for Ed Harris‘ portrayal of Senator John McCain in Game Change, HBO’s film about the 2008 election.

Screen Junkies already posted a picture of Julianne Moore after going through the HockeyMomulator 9000 to become Sarah Palin. Now get a peak at McCain below, wincing in front of his supporters, looking like a maverick. Fact: mavericks dress in ties and have up-tight posture. That’s what makes a man a maverick, friends. Also, let’s give a hand to hair and make-up. They did some good hair and make-upping here.

Woody is kind of a strange name. The Hunger Games is full of characters with strange names. I can smell the synergy. Oh… no, wait, that’s hemp. Never mind.

It’s official: Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of The Hunger Games, the endlessly-buzzed about Lionsgate adaptation of the first in a series of popular, dystopian tween novels by Susanne Collins. Harrelson will play Haymitch (“Hey, Mitch…’sup?”), the drunken winner of the 50th Annual Hunger Games, which took place over 20 years ago. Is Haymitch just a code name his character chose, in place of Woody Boyd? Does The Hunger Games take place in the “Cheers” universe? If so, I’m way more interested. Also, if so, which year did Norm win?

The Hunger Games is hungry… for actors. Not just ones you’ve never heard of, like Liam Hemsworth and Dayo Okeniyi, but also a few celebrities to compete for screen time with the teenage dystopian wastelanders. John C. Reilly‘s name has been bandied about, and now we’ve got word a few more big names have been offered roles:

According to new rumors, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Stanley Tucci have been OK’d for Hunger Gaming. In keeping with the tradition of naming everyone funny, Harrelson’s character would be Seneca Crane, the Head Gamemaker. He’d be like the Milton-Bradley of games where people die. Actually, that job sounds pretty badass. We don’t know yet who the other actors would portray.

Directed by Gary Ross, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. (Vulture)

Acclaimed surfboard wrestler Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of Jay Roach‘s Game Change. He’ll join the previously cast Ed Harris and Julianne Moore in the HBO Film about the McCain-Palin 2008 Presidential campaign.

Though he so totally would have made our prediction list if we knew his character existed, Harrelson will play McCain’s senior adviser, Steve Schmidt. Producers should note that if there are any roles available for a guy who dresses like Ted Nugent and yells a lot, he’s really good at those too. (Deadline)

Timberlake Goes Through A Kriss Kross Phase

A new, less naked trailer for Friends With Benefits is online and affirms that everyone in Hollywood knows each other. Will Gluck‘s follow-up to Easy A also sports cameos from Emma Stone and Andy Samberg. Stone, of course, starred in Easy A and Samberg convinced Timberlake to stick his D in a box and Patricia Clarkson (who also appears). It’s also notable that Woody Harrelson (who co-starred with Stone in Zombieland) appears as Timberlake’s gay confidant. That is an intricate web of casting.

It’s only a matter of time before we see Mila Kunis play Woody Harrelson’s unlikely love interest as they butt heads while traveling to the group wedding of Justin Timberlake, Emma Stone, and Andy Samberg. Which will be presided over by Patricia Clarkson. Look for Goin’ To The Chapel by Spring of 2013.

‘Three Stooges’ Looking Less Likely To Strike Oscars Gold

While they haven’t found the right knuckleheads for their Three Stooges film, the Farrell Brothers have mentioned a few of the folks who have been approached. Some are really interesting choices while the others are doo-doo.

Looks like they’ve moved away from trying to win an Oscar and have focused exclusively on comedic actors. While making the rounds for Hall Pass, the Farrellys have revealed the current state of casting. In competition for the role of Moe are Hank Azaria and Johnny Knoxville, Will Sasso leads the charge for Curly, and Larry has been offered to Larry David, Woody Harrelson, and Justin Timberlake.

Hmmm… really interesting choices in there. If it were up to me, I’d say Azaria, Sasso, and Harrelson are all perfect. As much as I’d like to see Justin Timberlake poked in the eyes, he’s just not the right fit. (via The Playlist)

‘Zombieland 2′ to Shoot in 3D (Maybe)

In a recent interview with MTV, director Reuben Fleischer spoke about a possible sequel to his hit film, Zombieland. While he is currently preoccupied with his latest project, 30 Minutes or Less, Fleischer expressed interest in shooting the second installment in 3D…if he shoots it at all.

When it comes to 3D, I feel pretty strongly that you should shoot it in camera. I feel like it just looks so much better. If you’re going to make a 3D movie, go ahead and make a 3D movie. I would definitely, if we do’Zombieland 2,’ make it in 3D and want to shoot it in 3D.

I’m not sure I totally agree with that statement. Clash of the Titans wasn’t shot in 3D, and the film looked awesome after the conversion. Of course, I never actually watched the film. I just took a bag of mushrooms and stared at the poster until the theater manager asked me to leave. But still, the scene where Liam Neeson craps in the parking lot is amazing. Or was that me? Either way, great movie. (Dread Central)
