She’s been keeping a low profile, but all of that is about to change. Famke Janssen has joined the cast of Tommy Wirkola’s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Megamind is going to suffer for being the second animated superhero movie. In fact, it follows a long line of Dreamworks being second to Pixar (fish, monsters although they did beat them to insects). I’m not saying it’s The Incredibles, but Megamind is the best Dreamworks animated movie and certainly the best animated movie this year.
Dreamworks Animation has released the first five minutes of their upcoming film Megamind starring Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey, and Jonah Hill. The trailers seemed a little too The Incredibles-y to me, but this new footage has peaked my interest. Just the fact that Brad Pitt and not Steve Carell is voicing the film's hero, Metro Man, is intriguing. Carell must have been busy on one of his fifty-thousand other projects.

The script for Zoolander 2 is almost complete, and it looks like most of the cast from the original film will return. Aside from Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell will also be reprising his role as the evil Jacobim Mugatu. However, it seems there's going to be some new blood on the set, as Jonah Hill is likely to join the cast.
The plot involves Derek Zoolander and his friend Hansel trying to return to the world of male modeling despite the fact they are now considered too old for the business. That may or may not turn out to be a funny premise, but as long as there's at least one gasoline fight in the film, I'll walk away happy. (Latino Review)
Will Ferrell's upcoming film, Casa de mi padre, has unveiled its secret weapon: Mexicans! Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, both natives of Mexico, have joined the cast of the Spanish language film which producers say will be shot in the style of an “overly dramatic telenovela.”
Considering Bernal was in Y tu mamá tambié and Luna was in Milk, the odds of the film having a homoerotic scene just went through the roof. Couple that with middle-America's current love of all things Mexican, and you've got yourself a guaranteed hit on your hands. (Collider)
Homeless Brad Pitt wants your fingernails. Another trailer for the Dreamworks animated film Megamind has dropped, and I still can’t help but feel like I’ve seen this movie before. Will…
Bring it on, witches.
Jeremy Renner recently spoke to Norwegian site Dagsavisen in loud, deliberate speech patterns to explain that he might work for breadcrumbs in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. He also stated that original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Noomi Rapace, may play his sister and fellow witch hunter for director Tommy Wirkola and producers Adam McKay and Will Ferrell.
There's no official press release yet, so don't consider this a lock. It's about time Renner returned to comedy. He showed such promise in National Lampoon's Senior Trip. (Twitch)

Ay ay ay! Will Ferrell's next movie will be entirely in Spanish….más o menos.
Easy there, Pat Buchanan. Don't move to Arizona and join the Minute Men just yet. It's not what it sounds like.
One of Will’s Funny or Die friends will direct the movie and from the way it’s being described, maybe we should all be picturing something along the lines of Conan O’Brien’s “Conando” sketches. It sounds like it could be a Spanish-language movie intended for an English speaking audience.
As a conosur of Telemundo, I think this film has a lot of potential. I can totally see Ferrell as a huge purple bug, or maybe dressed as an over-sized schoolboy complete with giant props. Throw in some dancing chicks and a hot weather girl, and you've got a cross-cultural blockbuster on your hands. (Cinema Blend)
Lizzy Caplan is returning to the world of underrated cable comedy. Deadline reports that she's teaming up with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay to develop the dating disaster memoir "I Don't Care About Your Band" into a comedy series for HBO.
Based on the sh*tty dating experiences of comedienne Julie Klausner, "I Don't Care About Your Band" will star Caplan as a young woman who dates man-boys perpetually. Whether they be hacky improv comedians or callow would-be rockstars. What that means is we'll most likely see Caplan wrapped in dinosaur-print bedsheets while asking, "Where is this relationship headed?"
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay unleashed this trailer for The Virginity Hit this past weekend at Comic-Con to a very confused audience. The film, which the dynamic duo are producing, came off as a joke at first. Then it went on just a little too long and we all realized it wasn't a joke, it was a promotion for an actual feature length film.
No disrespect to Team McFerrell, but this premise is an exercise in deceased equine abuse (beating a dead horse, to you laymen). It's a mash-up of 40 Year-Old Virgin, Superbad, and American Pie with the added, quickly becoming overused, faux documentary approach. Maybe that's why everyone at Comic-Con thought it was a parody of those films. Maybe it should have been…
The Virginity Hit hits theaters September 10, 2010

Dreamworks' has released a four minute trailer for its new animated feature, Megamind.
The film tells the story of an evil supervillain (Megamind) who is forced to deal with the consequences of his actions once his evil quest for power is finally realized. Luckily for Dreamworks, the trailer looks a lot funnier than what I just described.
Featuring the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, David Cross, and Brad Pitt, the film hits theaters December 3rd.

Ever since the news that an Anchorman sequel would not happen, I've been very sad. Food doesn't taste right and I don't notice the birds singing anymore. The news should make no one sadder than director Adam McKay, who seems to have accepted the loss. In fact, he's looking onward and upward. ScreenJunkies caught up with the director of The Other Guys over the weekend and he told us he's interested in bringing back Brennan and Dale for a sequel to the cult comedy Step Brothers. That poses important questions. Where would he take the characters? How have they grown?? And why doesn't he secretly film an Anchorman sequel using the Step Brothers funding? If not for me, do it for Christina Applegate. FIND OUT THE STEP BROTHERS 2 PLOT DETAILS AFTER THE JUMP…
