Ever since you saw Tron: Legacy, you’ve probably been lying awake at night, thinking about how the original Tron and its sequel are connected. “What was Bruce Boxleitner‘s role in this, if any?” You’d whisper to yourself as you tossed and turned in your bed fitfully. Well now you can say goodbye to those sleepless nights thanks to this new short film from the viral marketing wizards at Disney, which bridges the gap between Tron and Tron: Legacy. At least, I think it does. I couldn’t actually make it through the whole thing. I’m sure you’ll like it though! (via /Film)

Are you curious about what happened on the Grid in the 28 cyber-years between Tron and Tron: Legacy? Thankfully you won’t have to wait three decades to find out. You will have to subscribe to Disney XD though. Sorry about that.

“Tron: Uprising” covers the years under Clu’s dark reign and follows Elijah Wood‘s Beck, a program who leads the uprising and could just be the new Tron. Or, considering he doesn’t appear or receive mention in Tron: Legacy, he could just fail miserably and get carried off by those bee people. Guess you’ll have to order Disney XD to find out.

Get Pumped For ‘Tron: Legacy’ With Daft Punk’s ‘Derezzed’ Music Video

Time to rock out with our Tron-cocks out! The robots in Daft Punk have released this video for “Derezzed,” the first single from their Tron: Legacy score. If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s a pretty exciting series of beep-boop-bops, and the perfect thing to listen to when cyber-jousting on a Tron horse. Now they have Tron horses! Just when you thought they couldn’t Tron anything else.

The video is mostly a tip of the hat to fans of the original film, done up mostly in the throwback (cost effective) style. But it’s also a tip of the hat to fans saying, “Hubba hubba,” as Olivia Wilde shows up near the end. As if she’d ever set foot in an arcade.

‘Aliens’ and ‘Hard Target’ Get Tronitized

AICN hosted a contest where fans could enter their videos of other movies getting the Tron treatment for a chance to win a seat at the upcoming Butt-Numb-A-Thon at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater in Austin, TX. Harry Knowles has picked the winner and posted a few worthy runner-ups. Tronitized Aliens, the champion, certainly earned its title. Great FX work, not only with the addition of the neon circuitry, but also the spinning vortex just beyond the hatch. I’ve also included the Tronitized version of Hard Target starring the one and onl JCVD sporting a mullet while balancing atop a light cycle. In the real world, no one could perform a move like that and not derez. Nope wait, that doesn’t make sense.
