But seriously, that’s a lot of kids. And though having children is an enriching experience, there has to be a point where having that many is an impediment on a functioning life. It can cause financial, emotional, and vaginal strain. Not to mention the fact that they’re ineligible to appear on Family Feud.

However, the large family trend is growing in popularity with many Americans opting to raise a shitload of children. This is thanks in part to The Duggars, but also to the film families listed below.

Xenomorphs – Aliens

When it comes to movie moms, the Alien Queen really gets around. She has hundreds of children, all of which were conceived with a different partner. Her self-esteem must really be in the toilet. Alien Queen’s dad really messed her up.

Gremlins – Gremlins

Stripe the Gremlin probably has the biggest family in film history. Think about like this, if a spilled glass of water caused Gizmo to birth five offspring, just imagine what Spike’s jump into a YMCA pool yielded. Hundreds, if not thousands. When you factor in his babies having babies, that’s a ton of Gremlins. It must be really rough for them around Christmas.

There are no plot details yet, but if history is any indicator Tim Allen will mug for the camera while smelling hippo farts and Hanks will be trapped in the coils of an anaconda. Bonus points to Shulman if he includes the line, “There’s a snake in my boat!” (Deadline)

The Social Network

Awards like these can be indicators of how the Oscars are gonna go. I thought The Social Network was terrific, but I’m pulling for Toy Story 3 to win Best Picture, just like director / noted foot fetishist Quentin Tarantino. Are industry types willing to give the prestigious title of “Best Picture” to the third film in a series about action figures who fight mean children and evil teddy bears? Hopefully! But as long as they can ghettoize Pixar films to the Best Animated movie category, Buzz and Woody’s Best Picture chances may end up in the incinerator. Also, remember how terrified you were during that scene? Yeah, that shit was crazy.

A little more interesting is Inception sleep-stealing the most awards of the evening with 6, but they’re mostly art direction awards, which means they’re entirely worthless. The Fighter pounded its way to two awards for Best Supporting Actor and Actress Christian Bale and Melissa Leo. Also, Natalie Portman won Best Actress for Black Swan. Wasn’t Mila Kunis going down on her enough of a reward?

Have you always had the perverted yet overwhelming desire to lick the backsides of your favorite Pixar characters? Well then, it looks like you’re in luck! The U.S. Postal Service is continuing their “Art of Disney” stamp line with images from several Pixar films.

The new set will feature a pane of twenty stamps with five designs from Pixar films: Lightning McQueen and Mater from “Cars”; Remy the rat and Linguini from “Ratatouille”; Buzz Lightyear and two of the green, three-eyed aliens from “Toy Story”; Carl Fredricksen and Dug from “Up”; and the robot WALL*E from “WALL*E.”

The stamps won’t be available until August 19th, so for now, it looks like you’ll have to be content with just licking the back of the DVD boxes. Hang in there, brother! I feel your pain. (IndieWire)

Despite the belief that they would clean their room and eat all of their vegetables like a good animation house, Pixar isn’t ready to put their toys away just yet. Toy Story 3‘s Ken and Barbie will return to the screen with a short film that we’ll see before next summer’s Cars 2. Animator Floyd Norman (who wins the award for having the most animator-y sounding name) tweeted:

“Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii. I don’t know what it’s gonna be attached to. Fun stuff, however.”

So, is it them wanting to go to Hawaii, or do they actually go to Hawaii? And if they do go, are they subject to TSA screenings? You just know that Ken’s got something stuffed inside of himself. I need more here, Floyd. (via Collider)

The clever dialogue-less short that played before Toy Story 3 in theaters is included in the DVD. Like most Pixar films, it teaches a simple lesson, but in a fresh way. I learned that I shouldn’t fear change, and that Vegas is a helluva lot cooler at night.

Be warned, this feature is a science lesson in disguise. Buzz Lightyear takes us into space and teaches us how the International Space Station navigates and explores the unknown. A good refresher course if you’ve been out of school a few years.

Paths to Pixar: Editorial

The editors on the film explain the basics and art of editing. The editor on an animated film has a degree of control over the filmmaking that an editor on a live action film would never have. If they want a particular shot, they can tell the director to make it happen, as opposed to just having to work with what’s already been shot. Someone needs to keep these Pixar editors in check before a mutiny happens.

Andrew Gordon, a Pixar animator, tells of a secret room he found in Pixar Studios that he turned into a swanky lounge. It was not only visited by his bosses, but celebrities, sports stars, and a school soccer teams.

I heard Hanks slashed his tires during the last Toy Story. That could have just been something I made up though.

Toy Story 3 releases on Blu-Ray and DVD this Tuesday.

Congratulations, kids! We did it! Toy Story 3, one the best animated, and live-action, movies of these past few years has become the highest grossing animated film of all time. The film has brought in more than $920 million worldwide, surpassing Dreamworks Animation‘s Shrek 2 ($919.8 million worldwide) for the title. All I can say is, daaaaaaaamn, that’s a lot of cheddar in Woody and Buzz’s pocket.

/Film points out that the price of 3D tickets must also be considered when comparing these box office numbers. Shrek 2 didn’t have the benefit of charging theater patrons $20 a pop to see more stuff jump out at them. A film like The Lion King made $783.8 million worldwide in 1994, a number which would be adjusted to $1.54 billion today. Daaaaaamn, that’s a lot of cheddar in Mufasa’s pocket. Oh wait, he died in the film. RETROACTIVE SPOILER ALERT!

The sick bastards over at Holy Taco whipped this poster up. Looks entertaining, but I always thought Buzz Lightyear was a Spaceman, not a Rabbit.

Toy Story 3 ruled its second weekend at the box office, bringing in $59 million. An estimated 57% of its revenue was from 3D screenings.

The film easily crushed its closest competition, Grown Ups ($41 million) and Knight and Day ($27.8 million) thanks in no small part to the fact that Toy Story had a more substantial plot and more realistic, likable characters. Get it? It’s ironic because Toy Story is a cartoon about toys!

Toy Story 3 lea the box office this weekend, bringing in an estimated $109 million. It was the largest opening ever for a Pixar film and the third largest opening so far in 2010.

The success of Toy Story should come as no surprise to anyone who pays attention to movie trends. The box office numbers simply prove what we here at Screen Junkies have known for years: kids love Tim Allen.  (Coming Soon)

Think you can pull the wool over MY eyes, Pixar?! I knew this video for a supposed Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear was a Toy Story 3 ploy the second I hit play. Sure, it looks authentic, but if this bear really existed I would have owned the crap out of it back in 1983. It doesn’t even matter that a bear with the word "hug" in its name doesn’t even give hugs but instead just receives them (like a normal stuffed animal?), or that the grindhouse-esque commercial cuts off right before the bear slaughters the little girl in her sleep and then goes for the rest of the family. I simply had to have everything I saw advertised, or mother got the hose again.

Nothing makes me giddy like a Pixar trailer. Those (evil?) geniuses always knock it out of the park, and Toy Story 3 looks like no exception. All of our favorite toys are back, and they’re mixing it up with a new batch of playthings when they’re donated to a day care center. You’d think the rest of the movie would follow Woody and Buzz as tiny tots jam them into various orifices, but instead it appears they’re loving their new home. In The Closet Ken, voiced by Michael Keaton, convinces himself he has feelings for Barbie inspite of the new cowboy arrival, and Pervert the Octopus offers up massages (with happy endings, no doubt). 

Everything’s right as rain until the toys find out their abandoner, Andy, is looking for them. They decide to break out and go in search for the owner who cast them aside like yesterday’s garbage when he decided to go better himself at college. What a selfish prick. You don’t deserve these special toys, Andy! They’re too good for you! You hear me, Dad?! Oops… That’s an issue I need to take elsewhere.

Disney-Pixar are slowly dumping out Toy Story 3‘s toy chest to reveal 14 new characters from the upcoming sequel. Today we meet Ken. He combines the masculinity of Dirk Benedict with the fashion sense of Jim Jay Bullock. It looks like Barbie’s finally found real love after G.I. Joe’s crippling PTS drove a wedge down the middle of their happy union. Good for her. I can’t see anything wrong here. From Disney-Pixar:

It’s been playing in theaters for a couple weeks, but now it’s finally hit the ‘nets. Yes, the new trailer for the long-awaited Toy Story 3, which tells the tale of Andy’s toys’ survival after they’re unceremoniously dumped in a day-care center after Andy departs for college.

The only toy that gets to come with Andy on his matriculation? A sassy, wisecracking Fleshlight named Virginia, voiced by Queen Latifah.
