That’s right. The film is about nerds who steal from the actual Nicolas Cage. That hasn’t been attempted since Billy Bedlam wouldn’t put the bunny back in the box.

The Superman-obsessed weirdo had his issue stolen in 2000, only to have it recently turn up in an abandoned storage unit. Sadly, Cage isn’t available to play himself in the film as of right now, but Jason Statham has been approached. Seeing Statham play Cage would be an almost religious experience but it’s unclear things will go that way.

Let’s all face the truth, the role will go to Liam Neeson. (THR)

Now, the really, really good news: That film is called The Boondoggle and will star renowned shouter/actor Rob Riggle and “The State” and “Reno 911!” alum Thomas Lennon.

Frankly, I don’t think the hand of God could have improved Paul Blart, so let’s just chalk that up to “the guy needed to eat” and move on. Also encouraging is the fact that Riggle and Lennon punched up the script. I would be ecstatic about this had Lennon not also had a hand in Herbie: Fully Loaded. As it is, I have downgraded my outlook to “really excited.”

Life is full of gray areas and few absolutes it would seem.

The Boondoggle focuses on two men who go on a business trip in regards to a project that they know will not ultimately work out. I know that sounds hopelessly vague, but I work with what I have. It’s nice to see Lennon get a starring role after so many great supporting efforts. Riggle, on the other hand, will have to tone down his “I’m shouting and it’s funny!” schtick to last 90 minutes on-screen. Unless he spends most of the time shouting at little kids. That could work. Lennon is an alum of “Reno 911,” “The State,” and has had scene stealing performances in I Love You, Man and the recent Cedar Rapids.

Rob Huebel has seemed poised to make the jump from a “that guy” to comedic staple in films such as The Other Guys, I Love You, Man (also), and Little Fockers.

And if you don’t know Rob Corddry by now, I really can’t help you. Ok.  I can help you. He’s had turns in Old School, Hot Tub Time Machine, and”Arrested Development.”

The film revolves around characters played by Anna Kendrick and John Francis Daley, who must defeat the Antichrist (played by”The Office‘s” Craig Robinson). Not that it matters. When you get a cast of comedians this strong together, the less boxed in by plot they are, the better. See also: Wet Hot American Summer. (Variety)

If you’re a fan of drug use or anti-Catholic blasphemy (or both), you’re in for a treat. Actor Thomas Lennon, best known as Lieutenant Jim Dangle in "Reno 911," is hard at work on the set of  A Very Harold &  Kumar Christmas 3D, which is currently being filmed in Detroit (aka the Hollywood on the Rust Belt). According to Lennon, the film has no shortage of drug use and, or showering nuns.

I think when people Harold and Kumar in 3D it’s going to be a full visceral experience not unlike seein Avatar with a bunch of dudes smoking pot and some naked nuns taking a shower, which is what I believe they’re filming today. In fact I know for a fact that’s what they’re filming today because I happen to not be on-set today and it’s kind of a bummer.

Lennon was also quick to point out that the third installment of Harold and Kumar was actually being filmed in 3D, not converted afterward, a fact that I’m sure will not be lost on the thousands of stoned jackasses who will be watching the movie while waiting for their pizza to hydrate in the year 2017. "Reno 911" stars Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant took the time to sit down and review the porn parody of their popular Comedy Central show. Their ultimate conclusion is there’s a lot more stuff in the XXX version that you can masturbate to. I hadn’t ever seen the "Reno 911" porn before, so I was surprised at how well Sexy Dangle impersonates (Not Sexy?) Dangle. It’s like he’s really trying, which is both commendable and sad. Maybe the day will come when not all of his sketches end in a c*m shot.
