Like a BBC-commissioned Dorian Gray.

The psuedo-documentary/road trip comedy The Trip seemed low-budget and pleasant enough that stars Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon wouldn’t need much to be convinced to get back in the saddle. The film will once again start as a six-part series on BBC, then get that footage condensed to the good stuff.

Etc, etc, etc. HERE’S THE MICHAEL CAINE CLIP.

Two Comedians Eat, Drink, And Bust Balls In ‘The Trip’ http://www.screenjunkies.com/video/two-comedians-eat-drink-and-bust-balls-in-the-trip/ http://www.screenjunkies.com/video/two-comedians-eat-drink-and-bust-balls-in-the-trip/#comments Thu, 05 May 2011 21:15:00 +0000 Penn Collins http://www.screenjunkies.com/?post_type=Video&p=210734 It's kinda like going on a 70-minute road trip with two hilarious British friends. It's exactly like that, actually.

The Trip is essentially a movie about two comedians hanging out. Shot as a BBC miniseries, a camera crew followed around Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, as they adopted amplified versions of their personas for the cameras. (Think “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” but good-natured.)

The miniseries has been boiled down to a 70-minute documentary/feature that follows the duo around as they tour England, eating, drinking, and doing nothing in particular. No word on when, if ever, the full series will come stateside. In meantime enjoy some killer impressions over dinner. The Trip hits theaters June 10.

“She was only 16 years old.” (Watch it. You’ll see.)

Longshanks http://www.screenjunkies.com/?post_type=Video&p=7322 Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon argue on their show "The Trip" about who does a better Michael Caine impression. I can't tell who wins. Brydon points out how slow Caine speaks, and Coogan exemplifies the broken speech pattern when Caine gets upset. I could watch this for hours.
