‘Total Recall’ And ‘Superman’ Pics Give Us Peeks Into A Futuristic World And A Smashed Truck, Respectively

We’ve got some set pics from both Total Recall and the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel. And it’s a good thing it’s not a contest because Man of Steel would lose. Bad. I’m not even sure if those are set pics or police photos of vandals in the parking lot. A windshield is smashed and a truck container gets a whole blown through it. That could be the work of Superman or a teenager with a baseball bat.

Total Recall, however, gives us what appears to be a robot clandestinely urinating in the corner, a few futuristic police cruisers (but sadly no Johnny Cabs), and some sort of bustling transportation hub, possibly the immigration office from the original.

Advantage: Total Recall.

But again, it’s not a contest. But if it was, Man of Steel would lose. Hard.

Rumors about Zack Snyder‘s Superman reboot The Man of Steel are easy to come by. For example, here’s one I just made up: The Man of Steel will feature fashion model Clark Kent being trained and brainwashed by a shadowy criminal organization that uses male models as assassins to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia. But it’s not as easy to make something up when it’s the plot premise listed on The Baseline Studio System, a movie industry database for media professionals. Here’s the synopsis they have listed for The Man of Steel:

“A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.”

Remember, this isn’t an official announcement, but Baseline apparently has a pretty good accuracy rating as far as movie news is concerned. No General Zod listed in the premise, unless Snyder has turned Zod into an Idi Amin-like African warlord, which would pretty much be the best idea ever. But I’m guessing he probably just comes in later. (Bleeding Cool)
