To be clear: I didn’t say it promised to be good, but rather, interesting. After the wildly underwhelming and painfully familiar The Hangover 2 made an ass-ton of money at the box office, it was no surprise that a third installment would be in the works.

Director Todd Phillips swore it would be different and swore it would be the final one. And judging by this poster, it looks different all right. Take a look and imagine the possibilities.

Much like Shia LaBeouf, we all knew there’d be another Hangover. Now Bradley Cooper has confirmed it. He’s also confirmed that nobody was happy with the formulaic approach to The Hangover II and that the third entry won’t serve up such a recognizable storyline. He tells TV host Graham Norton:

“I hope we’ll start shooting next September. I know (director) Todd Phillips is working on the script. We stuck to the formula in the second one but the third would need to close the trilogy. I think it’ll take place in L.A. and not adhere to the structure.”

I don’t know. Can we believe him that we’ll be entertained in a fresh and original way? The man is an actor after all. He’s paid to make believe. This could just be one huge misdirect tailored to trick us into buying tickets for another chapter. Then again… those eyes. They’re so deep. I feel like I can see into his soul. It’s warm and honest there. (National Ledger)
