The 'Rango' director is getting creepy on Starz.

Gore Verbinski, who’s best known for making movies that make a trillion dollars (Pirates Of The Caribbean, Rango), is taking his talents to the tiny cable network Starz for a new supernatural series called “The Brink.” Based on the J.C Hutchins’ book “Personal Effects: Dark Art,” the series is said to be a supernatural thriller that’s a mix of “CSI,” “The X-Files,” and “House.” It’s also said to be come with various interactive online components. The plot seems appropriately creepy:

It chronicles art therapist Zach Taylor’s investigation into the life and madness of Martin Grace, an accused serial killer who claims to have foreseen, but not caused, his victims’ deaths.

Sounds interesting. It’ll be strange and exciting to see how a large scale, blockbuster filmmaker like Verbinski will be able to translate his huge ideas to not only the small screen, but a small network like Starz, who have notoriously tiny budgets for their original content. Fingers crossed for skeleton masks and ketchup for fake blood!
