		<description><![CDATA[Hollywood just got awesome.]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>&#8220;Having worked with several different studios over the years, we came to realize that our favorite people in the world are ourselves.”</p>
<p>That was the official announcement from <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/trey-parker-361/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Trey Parker</a> and <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/matt-stone-223/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Matt Stone</a> that they are moving ahead with plans to open their own $300 million production studio. Using their own money, they opened Important Studios which they will use to produce movie, television and theater projects. In other words, they&#8217;re going to start creating the type of projects they&#8217;ve always wanted to see, free of any studio involvement.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s not to say they ever copped to studio pressure in the past but I still get the feeling that the leash is off now. Should we go ahead and give them their own network? Might be nice to get out of the way now. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not one to be outdone by <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/sylvester-stallone-795/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Sylvester Stallone</a>, <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-lists/who-is-more-terrifying-michael-myers-or-mike-myers/" target="_blank">Mike Myers</a> is also planning to bring one of his iconic <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/characters/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>characters</a> to the stage. In addition to a fourth <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/genres-movies/comedies/austin-powers-quotes/" target="_blank"><em>Austin Powers</em></a> film, the <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/comedian/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>comedian</a> is planning a musical <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/adaptation/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>adaptation</a> based on the swinging 60&#8242;s super-spy. The musical stage show will be helmed by <em>Book of Mormon</em> co-director Casey Nicholaw, and will serve as a prequel to the <em>Powers</em> movies. The origin tale&#8217;s focus will center on how Austin first acquired his mojo.</p>
<p>Before you get all up in arms, note that Myer&#8217;s will not play the lead role in this musical. He&#8217;ll be much too busy with bringing another sequel to the screen. Besides, <em>The Love Guru</em> was first developed as a stage show and look how good that turned out. Eeesh. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Naturally, the success of <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/the-book-of-mormon/" target="_blank"><em>The Book Of Mormon</em></a> on the <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/broadway-223/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Broadway</a> stage is leading to a big screen <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/adaptation/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>adaptation</a>. But not so fast. Creators <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-lists/5-celebrities-who-were-targeted-by-islamic-extremists-besides-david-letterman/" target="_blank">Trey Parker and Matt Stone</a> confirmed that the film project is in the works with the show&#8217;s producer <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/scott-rudin-701/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Scott Rudin</a> on board and Parker in the director&#8217;s chair. “The great thing is, a lot of Broadway teams would have to go team up with a Hollywood producer and bring on a Hollywood director, but Trey’s a director and Scott’s a great producer. We’ve all made movies. So it’s kind of cool, it can stay in the same family.”</p>
<p>So, when can we expect to see it in theaters? Not until it&#8217;s done cleaning up on stage sadly. “Hopefully it will have a big run and a big tour and then we can do the movie in several years,” says Parker.</p>
<p>Bummer. Soon enough just isn&#8217;t soon enough. Can we get a <em>Party Down</em> or <em>Arrested Development</em> movie to tide us over in the meantime? We&#8217;re asking nicely. <description><![CDATA[In honor of their recent Broadway success, I've compiled my 11 favorite Parker/Stone songs. If you don't like my list, go f#ck your uncle.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Trey-Parker_Matt-Stone_musical.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Trey-Parker_Matt-Stone_musical.jpg" alt='' title="Trey-Parker_Matt-Stone_musical" width="550" height="428" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-204097" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-news/try-to-have-trey-parker-and-matt-stone-killed-go-to-jail-for-25-years/" target="_blank">Trey Parker and Matt Stone&#8217;s</a> new Broadway <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-episode/south-park-elementary-school-musical/" target="_blank">musical</a>, <em>The Book of Mormon</em>, is being called a surprise hit. But anyone who is surprised by its success must not have been paying attention. It has been lauded by critics for dealing with dark topics such as AIDS and third-world genocide, while at the same time maintaining the irreverent yet surprisingly sweet tone of a classic Broadway show. But these are the hallmarks of Parker and Stone, who have been hard at work crafting their unique style for well over a decade. With songs such as &#8220;Everyone Has AIDS,&#8221; and &#8220;Hang the Bastard&#8221; under their belt, the transition to Broadway almost seems like an afterthought. But in honor of their success, I&#8217;ve compiled my 11 favorite Parker/Stone songs. If you don&#8217;t like my list, go fuck your uncle.</p>
<h4>&#8220;Hang the Bastard&#8221; &#8211; <em>Cannibal the Musical</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/youtube-968/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>YouTube</a> video player&#8221; width=&#8221;550&#8243; height=&#8221;443&#8243; src=&#8221;http://www.youtube.com/embed/H7Q9ZEdOLSE?rel=0&#8243; frameborder=&#8221;0&#8243; allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>It&#8217;s certainly not the best song they&#8217;ve ever written, but &#8220;Hang the Bastard&#8221; set the stage for their latter success. And despite the subject matter, it&#8217;s pretty catchy.</p>
<h4>&#8220;Warts On Your Dick&#8221; &#8211; <em>Baseketballs</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GM1cx9XXWaE?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Who else besides Parker and Stone could make a song about genital warts so damn catchy? OK, maybe Eazy-E, but he&#8217;s dead.</p>
<h4>&#8220;Salty Chocolate Balls&#8221; -&#8221;<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/shows/south-park' target='_blank'>South Park</a>&#8220;</h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YNaEAiwlaLY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>While Isaac Hayes ended up leaving &#8220;<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/south-park-596/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>South Park</a>&#8221; on bad terms, his run with the show was hilarious. And while he&#8217;ll be better remembered for singing the theme from <em>Shaft</em>, I&#8217;ll always remember him for his &#8220;Salty Chocolate Balls.&#8221;</p>
<h4>&#8220;Circle of Poo&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;South Park&#8221;</h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5HjGbjbsrP0?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Not only is this<em> Lion King</em> <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/spoof-513/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>spoof</a> about talking shit hilarious, but it somehow manages to be genuinely heartfelt. </p>
<h4>&#8220;Uncle Fucker&#8221; &#8211; <em>South Park &#8211; Bigger, Longer, Uncut</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nWPYqnSNj74?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>This song from the <em>South Park</em> movie sets the stage for an epic battle between not only parents and television, but also the U.S. and <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/canada/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Canada</a>. </p>
<h4>&#8220;Now You&#8217;re a Man&#8221; &#8211; <em>Orgasmo</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/oiXaT_1I-vw?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>What makes a man? It&#8217;s probably the titties.</p>
<h4>&#8220;Blame Canada&#8221; &#8211; <em>South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LAYMJnO9LBQ?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>As mentioned above, when the children of South Park begin using foul language, it isn&#8217;t long before their parents &#8220;Blame Canada.&#8221; This song was actually nominated for an Oscar, but lost out to Phil Collins.</p>
<h4>&#8220;I&#8217;m So Ronrey&#8221; &#8211; <em>Team America: World Police</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="339" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xh_9QhRzJEs?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>In this song from <em>Team America</em>, Stone and Parker mock Kim Jong-il with a mix of puppets and <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/asian/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Asian</a> stereotypes. Offensive? Maybe. Hilarious? Definitely.</p>
<h4>&#8220;Everyone Has AIDS&#8221; &#8211; <em>Team America: World Police</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5eXXecpsr3A?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Not many people can get away with mocking the AIDS epidemic. But as always, Parker and Stone manage to pull it off.</p>
<h4>&#8220;America, Fuck Yeah&#8221; &#8211; <em>Team America: World Police</em></h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/IhnUgAaea4M?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>This list probably could have been comprised of only <em>Team America</em> songs, but I wanted to have some variety. That being said, the jingoistic anthem that is &#8220;America, Fuck Yeah&#8221; is certainly some of their best work, bar none.</p>
<h4>&#8220;Gay Fish&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;South Park&#8221;</h4>
<p><P ALIGN=CENTER> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="550" height="443" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6GzOoyOOfqM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>In my book, any song that paints <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/kanye-west-154/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Kanye West</a> as a dirty fish fucker should win a god damn Grammy.</p>
