Deadline reports that Michael Chiklis will be taking his brand of “stocky and bald” to Taylor Hackford‘s Parker, playing the villain opposite Jason Statham‘s hero. Two bald men enter, but only one will leave…

Walton Goggins, who has made a fair amount of noise as the ambivalent Boyd Crowder on Justified, will be taking his homespun southern mannerisms and batshit crazy hair to Spielberg’s Lincoln, where he will play Ohio (not southern, I know) Congressman Wells A. Hutchins, a rep who champions the abolishment of slavery. Nice work there, Boyd. This role comes on the heels of this summers Cowboys and Aliens and the Straw Dogs remake. This guy just loves all things southern! And who can blame him? It’s a wonderful cardinal direction!

The movie, to be titled Parker might be starring Jason Statham in the lead role, who’s “in talks” to play the revenge-mad Parker. I think he might make a pretty good Parker, except for one thing: He’s English! Parker is traditionally a hard-boiled American role, but I guess it’s possible Statham will play an American or they’re just changing the part to accommodate him. Either way, I can’t think of too many better people for the part – I just hope this doesn’t mean they’re changing this scary and gritty crime story into some explosion-filled blockbuster. But no one in Hollywood would ever dream of doing something like that, would they? (Variety)

The trailer for Taylor Hackford’s Love Ranch has scratched, tickled, and hit the web. In it, Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci portray the real life couple that started the first legal brothel in Nevada.

Needless to say, there are prostitutes in this film, gentlemen, and you better believe at some point Pesci teaches them some respect. Will it be Gina Gershon, Bai Ling, Scout Taylor-Compton, or Taryn Manning who is subject to the little man’s wrath? Considering Manning has already done the whole "lady of the night thing" before in Hustle & Flow she’s probably the most resilient. But don’t get too cocky, Taryn. Pesci lays down pimp law a lot harder than Terrence Howard. I have the bruises to prove it.
