Ignore all of those other massacres you’ve seen take place in Texas via chainsaw after the original. THIS is the only Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel you need to worry about from a story perspective. The plot is simple: a large-boobed girl discovers she has a long-lost grandmother who has left her a mystery inheritance. So, she and her scantily-clad friends head to Texas to pick it up. But rather then riches or cool artwork, the inheritance is Leatherface. You can probably guess where the plot goes from there. Note: it goes in a radically different direction than Rain Man does.

The final piece is in place. Natasha Lyonne is officially returning for American Reunion. She’ll join other original castmates Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Seann William Scott, Mena Suvari, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jennifer Coolidge and Eugene Levy for the 2012 release. After a rough couple of years in Hollywood, Lyonne has agreed to do the role in return for any leftover pie. (Deadline)

Tania Raymonde and Clint Eastwood’s youngest son Scott have signed on to bake under the Texas sun while fleeing a chainsaw-wielding maniac in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. Eastwood’s deal has him returning for two additional sequels. Raymonde’s deal has her looking hot until she gets cut in half. (Deadline and Deadline)

I guess Joaquin Phoenix is all better now. He’s booked to star in Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman‘s untitled project. Plot details haven’t been revealed yet but it’s suspected the film is “a satire about how world leaders gather to figure out all the seismic events that will take place in the world, from oil prices to wars that will be waged.” Just like in real life. Ride Along With MTV’s Gory ‘Death Valley’

With all these vampires, werewolves, and zombies invading television, it’s only natural that someone would need to police them. And also punch them through the head. That’s exactly what the stars of MTV’s Death Valley do.

The new scripted series takes a page out of the COPS handbook and sends a camera crew to ride along with the law officers of the San Fernando Valley. In this case, the San Fernando Valley has been overrun by a new minority for the past year — monsters and the undead. This gory preview shows stars Tania Raymonde (Lost), Brian Callen (MADtv), and Caity Lotz (Mad Men) on the beat and it looks pretty intense. Looks pretty violent but still nowhere near as violent as that episode of COPS where the naked, bloody guy punched his way through a fence to escape. We can only assume that he was on his way to go kill Superman. (MTV)

Two New MTV Shows Herald The “Death” Of Music Videos

MTV is continuing to diversify its creative landscape (translation: showing less Ke$ha videos) by picking up two new scripted programs. Following the lead set by nerd-with-massive-hog dramedy "The Hard Times Of RJ Berger," the network has greenlit "That Girl" and "Death Valley."

"That Girl" tells the story of high school student who becomes popular after an accident leads her classmates to believe she attempted suicide. "Death Valley" is a feaux-documentary series starring Ben Linus’s hot daughter from "Lost" Tania Raymonde as a monster hunter in the San Fernando Valley. Think of it as somthing like "Buffy" meets "Cops." Or like "Ghosthunters" but with actual plots and events happening. (THR)
