Tracy Morgan collapsed last night at Sundance while collecting his honor from the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards for his achievements in the field of threatening to impregnate. Eyewitnesses report that Morgan appeared excessively intoxicated before falling to the stage. But those close to him swear that he always seems excessively intoxicated.

After the episode, Morgan was taken away by ambulance to the Park City Medical Center, where tests confirmed no sign of drugs or alcohol in his system. This data has rocked the scientific community.

The official word from his publicist is that Morgan suffered “from a combination of exhaustion and altitude.” Exhaustion? It’s not like he actually climbed the mountain. And I doubt he was up late catching up on Downton Abbey. (TMZ)

The Credible Olsen Sister Snags Another Indie Film Role

Sundance darlings Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Radnor are teaming up to take over the festival. “How I Met Your Mother‘s” Radnor struck quirky gold with his 2010 directorial entry Happythankyoumoreplease, and Olsen turned heads with her performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Radnor will next direct Olsen and himself in Liberal Arts from his own script. Whoooaaaa-ho!! Slow down there. We’ve already got a James Franco. Radnor will play a 35-year old who can’t sever his ties to his college life and accept the responsibilities of adulthood. Olsen will play a teen-aged college student who he falls in love with over their mutual love of music. That’s quite an age difference. So, it’s like Garden State: The Super Creepy Version. Or rather, like a camera followed around Zach Braff during Sprin Break. (THR)

Sundance Announces Its All-Star Jury Members

Jason Reitman and Matt Groening have got jury duty. The good kind. They’ll be hitting the slopes of Park City, Utah this week to preside over the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

Reitman will be joined by critic Todd McCarthy, Kimberly Pierce, cinematographer Tim Orr, and Ugly Betty will oversee the U.S. Dramatic Jury. Groening is on the U.S. Documentary Jury with directors Jeffrey Blitz and Laura Poitras, producer Jess Search and editor Sloane Klevin. The Host direct Bong Joon-ho, Susanne Bier, and MOMA curator Rajendra Roy make up the World Dramatic Jury.

So, if your film is in competition at Sundance, you now know who to buy shots for. (Sundance)

Are You Prepared For Ridley Scott’s Feature Length YouTube Movie?

At some point last year, Ridley Scott and Kevin McDonald got together and were all like “Dude, let’s do something epic.” The result is a film called Life In a Day, a user-generated documentary comprised of footage submitted by YouTube users from around the world, all shot on Jul 24, 2010. McDonald calls the project “a time capsule that will tell future generations what it was like to be alive on the 24th of July, 2010.” I call it “surprisingly lacking in videos of cats doing stupid sh*t.”

The feature length film — cut from over 4,500 hours of footage sent in by participants from 192 countries — will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27. It will be concurrently be live-streamed on youtube.com/lifeinaday at 6 p.m. MT.

Among the film’s numerous subjects are a Russian freerunner touring Moscow on foot and a Korean man who has been riding a bicycle around the world for nine years. Personally, I’d love to see a rundown of footage rejected by the filmmakers, which I’m assuming includes hours upon hours of such beloved YouTube fare as crippling nutshots, awe-inspiring face plants, and obese people running into things on Segways.
