Two Comedians Eat, Drink, And Bust Balls In ‘The Trip’

The Trip is essentially a movie about two comedians hanging out. Shot as a BBC miniseries, a camera crew followed around Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, as they adopted amplified versions of their personas for the cameras. (Think “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” but good-natured.)

The miniseries has been boiled down to a 70-minute documentary/feature that follows the duo around as they tour England, eating, drinking, and doing nothing in particular. No word on when, if ever, the full series will come stateside. In meantime enjoy some killer impressions over dinner. The Trip hits theaters June 10.

Steve Coogan Making An Alan Partridge Movie

British comedian Steve Coogan’s most famous comic creation, vain and arrogant media personality Alan Partridge, isn’t all that famous in the US. This is despite being the subject of several TV series in the UK. But, as with fellow UK character Borat, that might be about to change, since Coogan is reportedly working on a script for an Alan Partridge movie. Here’s Coogan on the project:

“We’re writing it right now, going to shoot it next year. Don’t know who will direct it, but Pete Baynham(‘Borat‘) and Armando Ianucci are writing it with me. We’ve already started it.”

This definitely makes it sound like this is not an”Arrested Development movie” situation, but instead a “movie that will actually get made at some point” situation. (The Playlist)
