The film will be screened for the first time on Thursday at Sundance Film Festival, so expect the cat to be out of the bag about 45 seconds after the credits roll. Clearly, the Beasties have built enough cred up to enlist the A-list talent mentioned above, but will it be any good?

They’ve certainly got a pedigree in making music videos, having worked with Spike Jonze for the iconic “Sabotage” video, and their sensibility appears to be in the right place, but we should know for sure come Friday. Fingers crossed that the short ends in a pie fight.

Good news for Arcade Fire. Spike Jonze is re-teaming with Charlie Kaufman for a film project. After bringing us all Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, which made us all pretty happy, they are reportedly pimping a brand new film, the details of which are being kept tightly under wraps.

We do know that the secret project is not Kaufman’s Frank Or Francis. That’s currently shuffling slowly forward at Sony. But given that it’s a musical satire of Hollywood and the commercial machine, it might be awhile before we see it. Only time will tell what Jonze and Kaufman have in store. Lord, knows the world needs them to get the band back together. With the failure of Synecdoche, New York and Where The Wild Things Are, the hipsters are running out of Halloween costumes. (LA Times)

Where the Wild Things Are arrived this past weekend, and it pretty much turned out to be a therapy session with a bunch of clinically depressed forty-somethings dressed like furries. So when we heard that "We Were Once a Fairytale," the Spike Jonze-directed film starring Kanye West, hit the Web today, it was the news equivalent of a Xanax. 

We have the 11-minute piece here, minus the first minute or so. Spoiler alert: it’s effing weird.

Yeah, like we said, pretty weird. I’d like to see Spike Jonze revisit themes in Adaptation and do a film in which Kanye starts to interrupt himself, and then find out that his entire life was actually the daydream of an autistic child staring at a snow globe. That autistic child’s name? Kanye West. 

/Film posted this video of Spike Jonze scaring the ever loving crap out of a child while wearing a Where the Wild Things Are suit that’s like the cheap department store Santa equivalent of the Wild Things from the film.  Still, I’d be scared if my Dad were running around the house wearing this.  Then again, I was scared sh*tless of Michael Jackson in "Thriller" when I was that age.  Maybe that was just good sense.
